Best French Restaurant in NYC!!

Not only is this the best French restaurant in New York City, it is one of the best! Food is terrific. It doesn't make a difference if you have Dover Sole or beef, it's great. The appetizers are a great selection. Service is friendly, yet professional. The soufflés are superb. The wine list is... read more

If you love great food, superb service and flowers you will love this restaurant! Arrive early and have a drink at the bar, say hello to Tony for us. We dine here every time we are in New York. It still keeps it's fine tradition of excellence in food, service and charm. There are fresh flowers everywhere and the lighting is bright enough to see the great dishes. They don't have an a la carte menu at dinner, but the prix fixe selection is ample. Since we are fish... What can be better than wam rich food served with liveried wait staff on. Wintry day. We had split pea soup and a variety of entrees. Beef bourguignon in red wine sauce was a standout(A+), probably best I had in 2 decades. The signature Dover sole was grilled and deboned (A-) probably best in USA but I had it better... More

We love this place. Yes it is $$$$$$, but it is worth every penny. We visit NYC once a year and this is always our one time splurge. First, it is so beautiful and romantic. The ambiance, service and food are never anything less than outstanding. The little added touches like the cookies and chocolates make the experience so special... More

Twenty-four friends and family in a private upstairs dining room, two-story high walls with good paintings and tall wine racks, huge south-facing window, flowers everywhere, highly professional and proficient service, abundant and tasty hors d'oeuvres, perfect wine, great if not superb food. On all counts, a truly wonderful experience.

It's a bit of mid century New York glamour. Fine food , spectacular service...Roger our captain was the best! Ask for him upstairs. We didn't have a reservation. He treated us warmly and personally. Truly first class.

Consistently great, it is one of the better restaurants in New York. The room is beautiful with massive fresh flowers daily. The service is top notch as you would expect. The food is fantastic. Try the split pea soup and the roasted chicken. Fabulous.

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
