Perfect Experience

My husband and I went to Le Grenouille for my birthday. The service was incredible, the decor was impressive, and the wine was delicious. The food, however, was bland at best. My sea bass wasn't anything special, and our dessert soufflés (one each chocolate and pistachio) were overcooked. With so many great restaurants in the city, we won't be returning... More

All of the food was perfectly cooked, the sauces beautifully balanced and the restaurant itself is stylish with a timeless charm. Best of all is the service, attentive without being intrusive, helpful and friendly. All together they made it a very romantic and special occasion. There is a dress code so jacket and collar.

This is a spectacular French restaurant in Midtown New York. The private room upstairs was beautifully decorated. Classical charm in an old world style with fresh flowers and unique architecture. The food was fantastic from the lobster ravioli to the filet mignon to the apple tart. I would love to return over and over. The location was a convenient stroll... More

We booked this restaurant on the day of dining and were very pleasantly surprised that we could get a table on a Friday night in Manhattan! On arrival we were shown to our table in the upstairs Salon and were greeted with a wonderfully decorated and evocative room, vintage Parisian Charm in uptown Manhattan with professional and friendly waiters. We... More

Perhaps this review is premature, as I've been here only once and I ate at the bar -- but my reason for writing this now is that my one experience was so wonderful that I had to share. And if you are intimidated by the prices, then a visit to the bar may be a great way for you to... More

And it won't be the last! Exquisite french food and the room decor is beyond words. Classy, elegant, and the souffle (pistachio or Grand Marnier) are the best I have ever had, however, this is the second time when some one from another table has talked to us. Due to the tables being very close, that is a risk. The... More

Subdued, classical decor and lovely service. They really take care of you. The cuisine is not as fancy as you might expect; as one disappointed reviewer said, some of the dishes are really bistro dishes. That included the rognons (kidneys) I had. But I was not disappointed; they were beautifully prepared. I wasn't so impressed with the mushroom soufflé appetizer,... More

Beautiful room with lots of flowers, nice decor and ambiance. I went with friends for dinner. Sometimes people get dazzled by the decor and the ambiance; that's true, it is a big part of a dinner experience, even for me, but that's not all. I had the sweetbread to start, it looked ok, but the sauce looked a little like... More

The food, of course, is wonderful...but the room is beyond compare and the service sublime. I took my wife for our anniversary and we couldn't have made a better choice for a celebration if you want CLASS, and this place is it. Don't forget your coat, gentlemen, and I only saw one guy sans tie. I had the classic frog... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
