After considering several “bucket list” places to eat in midtown I decided on La Grenouill for a business lunch with someone I speak with email often and for years, but had never met in person. This restaurant is truly a New York classic. Even the flowers on the tables were delicate, very French and simply lovely. The service and the... More

When you walk in, the place is stunning as they have some of the most elaborate and beautiful flower arrangements you will ever see. The captain was at our service and aimed to please. The Dover sole was delicious. The snapper tartare was great. They also have an excellent wine selection.

The display of flowers is unparalleled. And the service...well, it should be beyond reproach. But we felt that our server/waiter was not up to par. He kept asking us if we were ready to order when it was obvious that we were NOT. When we were ready, he was no where to be found. The food was simple yet elegant.

Quite honestly I was shocked to read some of the unfavorable reviews? La Grenouille was recommended to us by a concierge more than ten years ago. We do not go to New York without a meal there. French perfection set in an exquisite intimate space filled with flowers and an atmosphere of pure joy. It can get a bit tight... More

La Grenouille is one of NYC's most elegant restaurants. This restaurant has old New York City charm. One gets the feeling when entering that it is a throw back of a more civilized, more refined time when classic good manners and service really matter. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and from the time we entered until the... More

The $63 three-course prix fixe lunch at La Grenouille is a very worthwhile trip in a marvelous time machine, taking one back to a more elegant time. Thank heavens such a restaurant still exists that revels and excels in the classics. I was intent upon having quenelles de brochet, having made them once. Who wants to force raw pike through... More

This is not to be believed. We were unsatisfied with two of the dishes. One had significant deficiencies in flavor, and the other appeared to us to have been prepared incorrectly. We were told that the chef acknowledged the latter. We quietly brought it to the attention of the staff. They replaced our dishes with something else. They kindly treated... More

ORDER QUENELLE as an appetizer as it is on the endangered species list. I love the duck. Dale the frogs legs. We have places we prefer to be seated and it makes a difference to the experience. No matter, service is great and the approach "old fashioned"........and, of course, the place is gorgeous. We will miss Charles Masson whose gentility... More

Very good meal but not outstanding. Quite a pleasant place and experience. My wife's crab cake appetizer was not as good as expected. My entre of scallops was very good. So was my wife's entre. The cheese course was not as good as expected. The brie was great but the others were ordinary. We have had much better in France.... More

This five star restaurant was a disappointment. The food was very good, but the service was poor. They could not wait to serve us and get us out for the next party. There was no time to talk and relax. There are far better restaurants in NYC.
