I have been going to La Grenouille for decades, and I was a bit concerned about some of the management changes that had been recently reported in the paper. I am happy to report that La Grenouille is as fine as ever. We went for dinner, and the place was full of happy diners. (I would say that the clientele... More

They serve Very classic French, and the atomisphere looked no change since it had opened 50 years ago. Most service staffs are senior,so their service was so smooth and attentive. Food itself was not great except soufflé,which was phenomenal. But in this type of French are rarely seen these days in NYC,it's worth a visit at least onece.

For a restaurant of this caliber the very crammed seating was a surprise, but even more so were the lamp cords and the lights on the table that kept cutting out. However the flowers on the table were very nice. The Crab cakes were very good, full of crab meat with only enough binding material to give it shape, a... More

This has to be the best French food in New York, but bring your wallet. It is also very expensive. The ladies will love the flowers and service

I particularly enjoy the cheese souffle . The flowers are always fresh and give a lovely atmosphere to the restaurant.

Elegant surroundings, excellent cuisine and gracious service-a combination unparalleled in other "would be" restaurants. La Grenouille hits their mark every time I have been there over the last 30 years . Thanks to the Masson family.

Still one of the best restaurants in NYC. The decor, service and yes, the Food is outstanding. Get a table where you can side side by side to see all the other goings on. I highly recommend the sweet breads and souffle's.

Been to Paris a couple of times, and stepping into La Grenouille transported my husband and I back to Paris. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The decor is very Parisian and the ambiance is very cozy and romantic. I highly recommend La Grenouille for a romantic dinner date.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
