Fun place to go after a show.

We decided to go to the famous Sardi's after seeing a Broadway show. We heard this is the thing to do. The atmosphere lends back to the old days with chandeliers, white table cloths, dressed up waitstaff, and celebrity caricatures on the walls. The food is on the expensive side but you are one... read more

The food was excellent as well as the service. There are many wait staff per table so we were well taken care of. Staff was friendly. We had been sight seeing all day so were not dressed as well as we should have been, but that did not deter our service.

We really enjoyed this restaurant that has been there for years. If you do not have reservations - - get there after 7pm or there will be a wait. The staff was great and the food was fantastic.

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday. This was not a good move as the staff could not wait to give us our food the bill and then show us the door. Had we know that many restaurants are quiet on a Sunday we may have just gone to a diner. The food was average and the atmosphere not as... More

Sardi's is not a restaurant it is part of the heart and soul of Broadway. The night we went it was buzzing with the early sitting waiting for the shows to begin. Steak tartare can be a tricky dish, mine was superb. The place was full to the brim, and most people looked really happy to be there. We were.

We went upstairs after a show and it was lively on a Saturday night, but not crowded. The bartenders were very helpful and the strawberry cake was delicious. My husband got the strongest crown and coke he'd ever had and my champagne cocktail was actually too strong to drink so we just sent it back, no problem. Don't miss the... More

Food was overpriced and unacceptable for a New York restaurant with a history of greatness. Husband's pork chops were dry and not eaten. My shrimp scampi was tolerable but "fishy" tasting. A disappointment to be sure! This old classic needs a facelift!

Lots of hype about this old ny establishment. It has lost a little of its lustre though. Decent food offerings but over priced. Attentive wait staff but on the stiff side. It is really much ado about a place of a bygone era

This is a world famous eating place - Sardi's of New York. I've heard many times about it, so when my wife and I decided to go to NYC to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary, we made a point to eat there. I know this is the birthplace of the "Tony Awards". Since its opening in 192, Sardi's served as... More

Sardi's is a NYC institution, old style and a bit touristy. We've been stuck in the theater district after a show with few options for a late dinner so we figured we try it. Sardi's caters to the after theater crowd and it was nice after seeing a show to sit and have a "real" meal. Definitely not for everybody... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
