Theatre history!

Great buzz and people watching! Great place to be to enjoy theatre history with all of the actors caricatures and share the same environment that they did!

Sardi's is a must see/go to restaurant. The New York Theater scene at it's best and the food is great! If you don't have time for a meal, please sit at the bar and have a cocktail, you will be happy you did.

First time here and probably the last. Food was not memorable, kind of bland. Service was pretty bad. Had to go once just for the experience, won't be back.

This is some of the best NY has to offer. Great service and very friendly staff. Bar tender "Joe" is exceptional. Appetizers and entrees were all very good at a price that didn't kill us (unlike some other restaurants in NY). Must make a reservation or go after the show for a bite and a drink.

I went there for dinner in 1978 and it hasn't changed and I was delighted that it looked the same. The walls full of caricatures of artistes, service good, not expensive for an iconic restaurant. We had an early weekday lunch and there weren't many people, I had the chicken club sandwich and it was huge and so was my... More

As a star struck kid in the late 70's I'd go upstairs at Sardi's, have a drink, order some whipped cheese and crackers, and enjoy chats with Joe, the bartender, a very sweet man who seemed to enjoy my company. 40 years later, I wandered back upstairs, and nearly wept to see my old friend still there. Each of us... More

The decor is past its prime but it showcases a bygone era of Broadway Sorrounded by caricatures of stars both still with us and those who are gone Attentive service Pretty good smoked salmon My wife and a seafood and avocado salad, I had ravioli We weren't rushed but staff did check in If you're seeing a play go have... Good atmosphere but average food. It wasn't bad, but wasn't anything special. Perfect if your going to the theatre though. Cool place but food is just ok.

Excellent for dinner (pre-theater). Friendly service, convenient to theaters, good selection of entrees and delicious desserts! We also liked the fact that it wasn't overly loud to where we couldn't enjoy our conversation, big plus! A bonus, pre-purchase dinner (combined with theatre purchase) and benefit from small savings!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
