A NY Theater Experience

Hallowed halls for theater goers, with portraits on every wall of theater actors. Tables are close together, so it's a bit tough to get around, but wait staff is nice without being (too) stuffy. Nice variety in menu. Good for pre-theater, as wait staff will get you out on time!

Sardi's was a wonderful restaurant. To see and try to identify all the caricatures of famous people was enjoyable and entertaining, mind you also quite challenging. The food and service was wonderful. We would go back in a heartbeat. Try the crab cakes...out of this world!!!

I wanted to go to Sardi's since it is such a part of NYC history but with mixed reviews I didn't have really high hopes for the food. My husband had the cannelloni as an appetizer and I had it for my main course and we both enjoyed it very much. I had the prosciutto and melon for appetizer and... More

For theater district food, this was good. We shared grilled orange teriyaki salmon and a basket of steam vegetables. The latter had every vegetable in the western world in it. And they were steamed. That was it. It came with a side of brown rice and the tiniest amount of runny hoisin sauce. The sauce was good, but the vegetables... More

The food was just delicious and we especially liked the cheese cake for dessert. Excellent wait staff - friendly and helpful. Nice wine list, too. Enjoyed the autographed portraits on the walls!

1 caesar salad for 25 $ but only a salad With rapped parmesan. A restaurant could be a légend but should remain a restaurant With a sense of cooking.

The food was very good, service was good, the host was not all that welcoming, but the star spotting was great ! We sat right next to Shirley McClain and her friend. We didn't bother them because we probably would have been thrown out. I think the staff are very attentive to the celebrities. There were two other celebrities in... More

What's great about this place is that it's "Old School". Pictures of stars on the wall who have eaten at Sardi's, dark wood, red coloring, a bathroom attendant, coat check, tight tables in the main dining room...I was expecting people to be smoking in the restaurant too. That said, I liked the busy old school ambiance. However, I think the... More

Over the course many theater trips to NYC over the span of many years I had never eaten at Sardi's. That changed last week. I made reservations for a pre-show dinner at this iconic Theater District restaurant and, while I really didn't have very high expectations, I was quite pleasantly surprised. My table was ready upstairs upon my arrival at... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
