Wheras I have had better BBQ ( Memphis, North Carolina), you cannot top this for Times Square. My wife had the brisket sandwich and was very happy with it. I had the pulled pork, not bad for New York. Large portions, attentive waiter and reasonably priced for Manhattan. more

Borrowing a line from Randy Jackson here, the food at Virgils was just OK for me. I've eaten better BBQ. But Virgil's is an OK place to go in the Times Sq vicinity, casual, good for kids, groups, decent beer selection. I thought the sides were really good (cole slaw, baked beans) but my main event, pulled pork, nothing special.... more

We ate the "pig-out" special and Grilled Chicken for the main meal. We included BBQ beans and Mac-n-cheese. The food was incredible. The mac-n-cheese was terrific. It was a lot like the mac-n-cheese we get at the Harley Davidson Cafe in Las Vegas. The ribs were very well cooked and tasty even while falling off the bone. My favorite part... more

We arrived at Virgils after a show. Found it by chance. The service was GREAT. The sauce on the riblet appetizer was phenomenal, but deceiving because the actual ribs were not. And neither was the chicken. Dried out and boring. Not waht I expected for a BBQ place. more

I went here with friends when I visited New York on my birthday. I had been the previous year and really enjoyed it. As it was my birthday and my friend was paying I chose to go here as it was quite reasonable. I booked a table before getting to New York. We got there at 7:30 and when we... more

Went to this restaurant after reading reviews on here. Arrived without making a reservation and even though it was quite busy, there was no problem getting a table. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful and explained stuff on the menu we didn`t understand. We ordered two mains and a dessert sampler. I got the brisket-which was fabulous! My other half got... more

We ate in Virgils this last Monday night. It was only about 1/3 full, so we didn't have any waiting issues. The staff all seemed friendly enough, alas our designated waiter didn't really 'get' English humour and found it a struggle to explain dishes we didn't understand, he couldn't get it that we didn't get it! Anyway... the food was... more

Stopped here after reading the good reviews. Virgil's is not worth the wait and certainly not worth the price. I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries. It was below average, but edible. Maybe expecting good bbq in NYC was too much. Even worse than the bbq was the tea. Being a southern themed resaurant, sweetened iced tea was listing... more
