Great food served in a cave

We entered St. Andrews on a whim because it halogens to be in front of us when we got hungry. We entered the establishment and it is laid out like an older pub. Bar on one side tables on the other, formal dining upstairs. It was dark, like really dark I am always suspicious of a dark restaurant... read more

Dined on a cold January evening and had a great experience! The Haggis was great as was my fish dish with mussels. Expertly prepared food, presently nicely and served by great waitstaff.

We just happened to stumble upon this place and were very happy we did. We came for lunch before a 3:00 broadway show. 2 of us got the brunch special and the other two ribs and turkey club. All were very happy with our meal. Staff was very friendly. Would come back again!

Every time I visit NYC I go to St Andrews. Primarily a great bar, but they have a restaurant attached which serves great food, try the Shepherds Pie. We sat at the bar a few nights and met some great locals and travellers. We got to know the bar tenders and thoroughly enjoyed our night.

Well, after waiting for someone to see us (we were convinced to sit downstairs because it was faster and less formal..although we were dressed for a night out.. ) the service was DEPLORABLE> I honestly can't believe how the waitress treated us like garbage. Im sure she saw two women and thought she'd get a bad tip.. well, it was... More

Firstly I want to sincerely apologise that you left feeling this way. However I have to be completely honest, I am really surprised by your review. I spoke to the server and the manager involved in that shift and they both had good dealings with you. According to them, you were talking to the server by her first name and... More

And that's saying a lot with all the pretentious bars! The difference is, this one takes great pride in their menu and in putting together an excellent whisky tasting experience.

Came here on a Friday night before going to see Mamma Mia. We had booked this some time before visiting as it was our honeymoon. When we arrived, we were shown to table in the window upstairs. An absolutely beautiful interior on the main bar floor; our waiter had a charming brogue. Our food was very good. I can't comment on scotch, beer or wine selection because I drank iced tea with my lunch. Therein lies my only complaint: the glass was rather small, full to the brim with ice, resulting in a small amount of tea... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
