Great for late night dining

My husband and I were starving after spending the evening at the Winter Jazz Festival. St. Andrews was a good choice for midnight burgers and beers. Nice selection of UK and American draughts. Good burgers. Very close to theaters.

Whether it's the list of Scotches -- at least 150, from every corner of Scotland -- or the haggis, St. Andrews may as well be outside Edinburgh. Glasses are drams or tastes at incredibly reasonable prices. We ate at the bar and enjoyed the best fried oysters we've ever had. If the rest of the menu is anything close we... More

We opted to try here for a lunch. It was very quite, one other at the bar ordering food. There was one bartender and one waiter with a supervisor/chef(?). We ordered a sandwich and After about 10 minutes the bartender came back to say that they had no We also ordered coffee which was left sitting at the end of... More

Fine, but could be more than it is. We went on Robbie Burns Night and it certainly seemed that StAs could have made much more out of it (!). This said, it's pretty average when it comes to Pub Food (the haggis, was 'just okay'), atmosphere and service. Good beer selection and a pretty cool bar.

We stop by here for breakfast or lunch every time we're in the City - especially if we've searching the racks at Macy's or H&M. Our group of intrepid shoppers has never been disappointed with the Club Sandwichs, Burgers, Omlets or Pancakes. Everything is top notch and doesn't break the bank. Even when they're super busy, there's never a long... More

Nice choice of draft ales. I had shrimp and scallops, basil pesto sauce, wild mushrooms and sautéed spinach, which was all delicious. Service was excellent. Fruit and cheese plate for desert was just the right size for our small group. I would return. Atmosphere was very nice, not fancy, but upscale (2nd floor dining rooms). Choice of breads.

One of my New Years Resolution is to start experiencing different ethnic food cuisines...we were just at MSG for the Professional Bull Riding competition (as an aside ..a definite MUST SEE) , and decided on St. Andrews due to both proximity to the Garden and my wife being of Scottish decent. We came to St. Andrews and were greeted by... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
