I wasn't sure what this restaurant would be like as some of the ones down the same street looked a bit dodgy, but thought I would try it. We enjoyed it immensely. The food seemed authentic, was very nice, the prices were reasonable and the service excellent. What more could you want? more

As a lover of Brazilian food, I am disappointed with this restaurant and cannot recommend it. We were a group of five people -- four adults and one child. We visited the restaurant for dinner and ordered different dishes. My wife shared her main course with our six year old boy. Food arrived long after being ordered and was cold.... more

First tip-off that there may be problems were the plates that they replace on the table after the first course. These came straight from the dishwasher as they were still a bit hot and wet. I'm surprised that one of the finest restaurant in New York city is not listed in your guide. Ipanema restaurant is been serving probably the best Brazilian Portuguese cuisine for the last 12 years. I been a regular customer for the last 8 years and i have never had a bad meal , it's just a very fine restaurant. IPANEMA... more
