Can't Wait to Go Back

This is a very well run restaurant. You book a table, you get a table right on time. You want first rate Italian cuisine and very good service, that is what you get. Memorable dishes (eg. Chicken rollatini with mushrooms surrounding it was great) in a fine atmosphere. There are families of all... read more

This is the only restaurant that we have to visit every time we are in nyc. We have been to 7 or 8 of the top 20 trip advisor restaurants and how they are rated higher than il cortile is hard to believe. Best fried mozzarella sticks ever, vodka sauce, and chicken Marsala. Awesome service and food.

Mulberry Street is packed with Italian restaurants with barkers calling you in for a meal. We'd made reservations at Il Cortile and bypassed the other offers. Upon arrival, we were ushered into the back room, essentially a patio courtyard with a ceiling. The wait staff was excellent. The wine list very good and not too expensive. And the food was... More

Gorgeous food. Ordered the chicken parmigana and spaghetti. The food is the best Italian food I've ever eaten which says a lot considering I've visited Venice, Verona and Sorento. Go at lunch time, soak up the atmosphere and ask for the lunch menu if it's not given to you upon being seated.

I was here several years ago and had the Veal and decided to do it again. It is very hard for me to find a good Veal Parm at any Italian Restaurant anymore so when I know I am at a good Italian restaurant, I order the Veal Parm. In this case, it was the best of the best! Service... More

Located in Little Italy, you can't beat the food here. The bread alone is worth the trip. The mozzarella melts in your mouth, the eggplant rolatini will make your eyes roll back in your head and anything with the marscapone sauce will convince you to never go to somewhere like the Olive Garden again. We were serenaded during Christmas season... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
