Great Choice!

Traveling with teenage grandchildren, we selected Il Cortile for our "Italian" night dinner. It turned out to be an excellent choice. We arrived after seeing Blue Man Group on a Sunday night, and were seated right away. Everyone was very attentive to us, answering questions about the menu. All 3 of... read more

Having dined in Little Italy for over 45 years, I have never eaten at Il Cortile. I think I missed out on great Italian food. We dined in the courtyard. The wait staff was beyond excellent. I am very deliberate with 5 stars but Il Cortile earned it. Appetizers were fried calamari and fried zucchini. Delicious. Entrees were chicken rollatini... More

Had a high school reunion of 9. We all enjoyed the continuous stream of multiple very delicious plates with Italian specialty anti-pastis, fish/meat/pasta options & multiple dessert options to share. An experience/attentive staff made it perfect!!

Food and service okay. Very pricey. The wine list is abismal. Paid $45 for a bottle of Savignon Blanc that tasted like bitter Chablis. Dirty bathrooms in the basement. Choose another spot unless you like lots of breadcrumbs inside your lobster ravioli.

Went to little italy for an early tea about half 4 myself and my boyfriend, lots of italy restraunts (along with lots of tourist i love ny shops) picked this place as from the outside the menu looked lovely and the decor inside, also noticed there was a $12 course offer on. Went inside and wanted to sit out the... More

Servers were efficient and timely. However our waiter seem disinterested and distant. He was very friendly with folks at another table who he seemed to know. I guess he figured we were tourist and would not be back. The food was wonderful, we will go back and ask for a different waiter.

Well, my wife and I fell victim to the tourist trap of Little Italy. We chose this restaurant based on good reviews on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, the food is overpriced, service is average, and the area is filled with with gift shops and stereotypes. Go to a nice steak restaurant (Sparks) and save yourself the trip to Little Italy.

Being in NY City for the first time can be very difficult and overwhelming. This city has so many restaurants that you have no idea where to go. il Cortile restaurant was great choice, they have an excellent service and the food is delicious. If you go to this restaurant to miss to experience their indoor courtyard.

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
