Dim Sum is a little Dim Lame!

Was walking in Chinatown for the first time and stumbled across Ping's Seafood. The doorway windows are impressive with three years of Zagat scores and lots of pictures of the owner with celebrities, but this place is resting on their laurels. Was walking in Chinatown for the first time and stumbled across Ping's Seafood. The doorway windows are impressive with three years of Zagat scores and lots of pictures of the owner with celebrities, but this place is resting on their laurels. We ordered two dim sum plates and both were just ordinary. The main course was more impressive, but let... More

Do it! Dim Sum!!! They bring around the dim sum carts and you choose what you would like! Chicken feet and more! The steamed buns and Chinese broccoli are awesome! We enjoyed everything we ordered!

I've had excellent dim sum in SF and Vancouver many times. I was very excited to try Pings after reading the excellent reviews. It was disappointing. Crowded and cramped! Hot and loud. The offerings were tasty but repetitious. I'm allergic to shrimp and 50% of the dishes contain some form if shrimp. No space for carts. The servers continually passed... More

Food was really good. Very fast since they come around with prepared foods you can choose from. Also ordered from the menu and it was delivered very quickly. Inexpensive.

Looking for a taste of authentic Hong Kong style dim sum we came across Pings teahouse. Typical Chinese style round tables (you will share tables if you don't use it all) in a full restaurant, creating a great ambience. The dim sum is continually brought round, but you can also order from the menu if you want. My test is... More

This place cranks out the dim sum and packs in the people. They prep it in the kitchen, bring it out to holding stations, and then bring it through the dining room on platters. By the time it gets to your table, much of it is cold. Here's the trick: don't get dishes off the platters; request the dishes you... More

The dim sum was delicious and fresh. Never knew dim sum could be soo yummy. Loved the a la carte style. Worth a visit while in Chinatown.

I happened upon this place , one street away from the normal Chinese restaurants I frequent and enjoyed 5 different dim sum. Although it did not appear that the server with the dim sum cart spoke English, a menu with photos of dim dim and writing in Chinese made it much easier! She would go off and find dim sum... More

It was my husband's 60th birthday and chose to celebrate by going down to chinatown. This restaurant was well recommended. We were a group of 6 and turned up after 9, the restaurant stated they could accommodate us. What they didn't tell us was, until we were sat ready to order, the kitchen would be closing and all the food... More

Decided to have dim sum here for late lunch as my partner and I were in the Chinatown area. We arrived just as the lunch crowds were leaving so plenty of empty tables. Great dim sum variety in the menu. There is an option or ordering a la carte or the waiting staff would push trolleys of freshly steamed dim... More
