Description: Gigino Trattoria opened its doors in August of 1994. The owners, Bob Giraldi and Phil Suarez, along with executive chef Luigi Celentano, have kept Gigino flourishing in the ever-changing Tribeca neighborhood. Chef Celentano creates both the menu and wine list, with daily specials of seasonally fresh seafood, game and vegetables. Gigino prides itself on the fact that all their dishes are prepared to order and almost all their pastas and breads are house-made. Fresh fish specials are featured on the “specials blackboard” daily, and it’s safe to say we also have the best pizza in Tribeca! Dining at Gigino Trattoria is a pleasure every time!

We had a party of 8 and were placed in the back of the restaurant. Unfortunately the A/C was blasting so hard across the room that 3 people in the line of the polar vortex were very uncomfortable with the non stop cold air blast. We requested the A/C be turned down and it was for about 1 hour then... More

This is a very nice looking restaurant and the staff was nice and attentive. Its about 20$ a plate which doesn't include a side salad. They have Gluten Free pasta (upon request penne and spaghetti) and their sauces are GF. Two cons: Both my husband and I had the bolegnese and it was beyond bland. My husband is usually pretty... We went for Sunday Brunch. The service was excellent. The bread was fresh and varied with a good olive oil and a reasonable balsamic vinegar. The selection was interesting and reasonably varied. The food was excellent. We split a paesana salad and the zucchini and onion omelette. Both were excellent and there was a lot of food. (Actually, a little... More

My wife and I have loved this place since before 9/11.Everything is fresh. They make their own pasta and mozzarella (it is the only place outside of Italy that we have found that has mozzarella that actually has taste and it does taste good). The bread and olive oil are both wonderful. (I took a picture of the olive oil... More

We (a colleague and I) have visited Gigino's for Lunch a few times. The food is good as is the wine selection. The service is normally good - was sloppy the last time we were there. It appeared that the staff had missed our order ! Required a few reminders before we got our food. (Nothing fancy - a Simple... More

We were in NY for a Yankees game Friday night and decided to check out the Film Festival going on Saturday before heading home. As we were leaving the film festival we thought it best to eat a late lunch-early dinner before our drive back to MA. We chose Gigino Trattoria because there was something on the menu everyone wanted.... More

Gigino is diagonally across the street from my apartment. Can't remember how many times we've eaten there over the years. Never been disappointed. Food is consistently good with a changing seasonal menu and daily specials. The servers knowledgeable on menu items and the prices are reasonable (for Tribeca). Meats are succulent, fish fresh, pasta always al dente. Last week I... More

It's really not hard to find a decent Italian restaurant in New York. It is a bit harder to find one that has good food, an interesting menu and reasonable prices. Gigino Trattoria seems to be one of the better places in that regard. The food was interesting and fresh tasting and the atmosphere was exactly what you'd expect in... More

A good friend and I have celebrated a number of Christmas dinners together and decided to go Italian this year. We scoured the internet and could not have picked a more perfect place that was open for the holiday. The atmosphere was cozy and festive and the décor felt like we could have been in Taormina, Sicily. The restaurant has... More
