Gigino Trattoria opened its doors in August of 1994. The owners, Bob Giraldi and Phil Suarez, along with executive chef Luigi Celentano, have kept Gigino flourishing in the ever-changing Tribeca neighborhood. Chef Celentano creates both the menu and wine list, with daily specials of seasonally fresh seafood, game and vegetables. Gigino prides itself on the fact that all their dishes are prepared to order and almost all their pastas and breads are house-made. Fresh fish specials are featured on the “specials blackboard” daily, and it’s safe to say we also have the best pizza in Tribeca! Dining at Gigino Trattoria is a pleasure every time!

Good food

I brought my daughter to NYC for the Halloween Parade. The day after we were tired and we just got back from a boat ride up to Bear Mountain Park. I wasn't hungry so she just got a pizza. I tried a piece and was good. The service was good. I would go back when I'm hungry!

Any one who is a Dany Aiello fan and enjoyed Dinner Rush needs to stop by at least once . You get the feel you are eating on a movie set. The food was very good. My wife had the limone chicken and I enjoyed the Orecchiette. The chicken dish while good was on the small side and not worth the... More

I met a friend here for lunch today. . . . . my first visit. They have an extensive Italian menu and daily specials as well. Service was fast and friendly. I had a cavatelli pasta dish with broccoli rabe and sausage. Fantastic! I will be back.

These types of restaurants are what I love about this area. It's calm yet buzzing, stylish but not OTT, slick but not rushed. We came here on a very wet evening before Christmas, but the atmosphere inside was warm, welcoming and friendly. The tables are certainly packed in a bit, but the volume is fine and you'll find good company.... More

We stumbled upon this spot on a seasonable night and enjoyed our meal very much. It has a cozy atmosphere with pompeii style frescos and exposed brick. Some rustic tables that are bare and others with tableclothes. Wide ranging option on menu. Service was excellent and the place filled up quickly though noise level stayed manageable. We enjoyed a Burrata... More

Very good Italian restaurant, close to the river and Brooklyn Bridge. Great choices of pizzas and desserts. Service was great and prompt.

Went here last night for a low-key Anniversary dinner in the neighborhood. Shared wine, the classic Margherita pizza (though on the small side) and Affogato for desert. Lovely ambiance and good service. Would return and try out the pasta dishes!.

We've been to many Italian restaurants throughout these city. This one wasn't necessarily bad , it just was not to die for good. The atmosphere and service was good. It was the typical intimate Manhattan setting. It just was not anything special. If you are nearby, or going for lunch (looked like they had decent lunch specials) it would be... More

Headed in for a quick business lunch Service was lovely and welcoming Had the Melanzane Alla Sorrentina as a starter (nice) and the burrata which was no less than a delight! For main I've had the seafood mix (day's special) which was lovely - a handful of seafood with a light tomato sauce. A friend had a snapper and it... More

as a standard rule when I am abroad I try to stay away from seemengly Italian restaurants but as we were lost in Tribeca we checked in desperately in this restaurant. I would say average at the most and pricy for the value.

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
