Gigino Trattoria opened its doors in August of 1994. The owners, Bob Giraldi and Phil Suarez, along with executive chef Luigi Celentano, have kept Gigino flourishing in the ever-changing Tribeca neighborhood. Chef Celentano creates both the menu and wine list, with daily specials of seasonally fresh seafood, game and vegetables. Gigino prides itself on the fact that all their dishes are prepared to order and almost all their pastas and breads are house-made. Fresh fish specials are featured on the “specials blackboard” daily, and it’s safe to say we also have the best pizza in Tribeca! Dining at Gigino Trattoria is a pleasure every time!

You get the feel for the family atmosphere in this busy Italian restaurant in Tribeca. There were plenty of families, larger groups and couples enjoying their dinners. We shared a bottle of Pinot Gris, sipping as we snacked on fresh made slaw and bread with tableside EVOO and good balsamic. The Pastorelle salad was a good size starter with generous... More

While there is not a lot of room in this restaurant, the food and staff make it an enjoyable dining experience. We made a reservation and our table was ready on time even though they were very busy. The person seating us was very friendly and seemed to enjoy being there. Our waiter was fantastic. Even though the people we... More

This restaurant has a large dining room with a somewhat rustic feel. Service was fairly friendly and the food was tasty.

This is a warm taste of Tuscany in a casual Tribeca restaurant. We go here often for the classic Italian diahes like orchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe, the many brick oven pizzas and the superb branzino.

Friendly wait staff, delicious food, and a top notch wine selection. Need I say more? Took a few friends here for the very first time, and they had some high expectations given how often I come here and tell them about it. They were not disappointed. It's always wonderful to be able to bring good friends to an authentic italian... More

Yet another great Italian restaurant in NYC. What makes this one better than some of the others is their bar service and atmosphere is just as good as their menu. They make fantastic fruit martinis using muddled fresh fruit, no syrups. Great wine list and reasonable prices make for a perfect experience, and I'd imagine that everything on the menu... More

This is the Italian restaurant everyone wishes was just up the street. Our friends who live up the street took us. Lucky them! Lengthy varied menu with a LONG list of specials. Everything was SO good from the penne vodka to the burratta to the lemoncello to the profiteroles. The service was friendly and attentive. The setting was comfortable and... More

Ate here early on a Sunday night. The restaurant soon filled up with locals. Very nice and varied menu. On the advice of our waiter, we shared a Burrata salad with prosciutto, which was perfect. We both had a different chicken dish, each excellent. Very good dessert choices. Reasonably priced for New York..

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
