Description: Gigino Trattoria opened its doors in August of 1994. The owners, Bob Giraldi and Phil Suarez, along with executive chef Luigi Celentano, have kept Gigino flourishing in the ever-changing Tribeca neighborhood. Chef Celentano creates both the menu and wine list, with daily specials of seasonally fresh seafood, game and vegetables. Gigino prides itself on the fact that all their dishes are prepared to order and almost all their pastas and breads are house-made. Fresh fish specials are featured on the “specials blackboard” daily, and it’s safe to say we also have the best pizza in Tribeca! Dining at Gigino Trattoria is a pleasure every time!

A good friend and I have celebrated a number of Christmas dinners together and decided to go Italian this year. We scoured the internet and could not have picked a more perfect place that was open for the holiday. The atmosphere was cozy and festive and the décor felt like we could have been in Taormina, Sicily. The restaurant has... More

Not only is the food delicious & authentic, the staff are wonderful. We never had to 'wonder where the waiter was'. Very attentive wait-staff, nice wine list, & a wide variety of authentic yet inventive dishes. The portions are perfect. It's quality, not quantity at his trattoria. We had a very nice evening, lingering over a light dessert. High-class setting... More

This was of the few restaurants open on Christmas day for which we were grateful, but no extra effort was made for the holiday in terms of decoration etc. The food was just ok but quite expensive. The tomato soup was amazing but the seafood cannelloni was average and the beef steak special was horrendous!! It was quite disappointing considering... More

Great home atmosphere, delicious Italian food, nice portions for sharing, attentive staff. Excellent wine list. I bring visitors here as well as locals. I have eaten here dozens of times for lunch and mostly dinner. It is a Tribeca favorite. Eggplant parm app w/Esotica salad, wine, dessert and an expresso make a nice lite supper.Great for all seasons-sweet outdoor area... More

Right down to the waiters, this place was so authentic Italian, it was amazing. The waiters were attentive without being overbearing. I ate here with a group of about 8 for a work dinner. We had the calamari, burata and roasted eggplant parm for apps. All really delicious! The burata and tomatoes had so much flavor. I had the linguine... More

The general atmosphere is really Italian, this is the highlight. You'd better make reservation online and it's free. The pasta here is better than other dishes, I had a very pleasant brunch with my friend in Gigino this Christmas.

This is exactly what you want and expect in an Italian restaurant. Fresh ingredients, good atmosphere and quality service. This is my first time in New York and after some of the service I've received the past few days, this establishment was very refreshing. Try it out.

I love the melanzana appetizer and gnocchi with lamb ragout and have it every time I go. When I first started going there a few years ago, they made mouth watering fried calamari ... the tenderest I ever had! It might be time to change my order just thinking about it!

Great standby spot both in Tribeca and Battery Park -- BP on the water with a stunning view of Lady Liberty and Tribeca a cozy spot with a view of park across the street - a good spot to catch up with a friend - also for a business or family meal (cozy albeit roomy) so you can speak with... More
