Wow. Terrific food, including sushi, hamachi shabu shabu, and some grilled items. I found the place by chance (near my hotel) and it was fabulous. The interior of the restaurant is reason enough to go- there's an ice sculpture of a buddha in the center of the restaurant and a flame near it so it slowly melts. Service was fantastic.... more

After hearing about Megu on the travel channel, I just had to give it a try. I was certainly impressed by the space/atmosphere, this place is hands down gorgeous, the service was spot on however the food leaved a lot to be desired. Was this the best meal I've ever had? No. Best meal I've had in Manhattan? Definitely not.... more

The venue is beautiful and the music is great. The food is not even average for a Sushi place. My salmon actually smelled like fish. Sushi should not smell like fish. The prices horrible for the experience. When we first arrived and seated the hostess choose a table near the server area. I knew we would be throwing down close... more

So we went for Valentines.... The food was average at best. When weighing this with the price this is not a good choice, head to Nobu or some where else. Service was awful. We received our food before our drinks. We weren't the only ones receiving poor service, the table next to ours actually walked out. Don't waste your time... more

Everything I expected and more. When you are led downstairs to your table your host will subtly introduce your arrival to which the staff will acknowledge and reply. Tables perfectly spaced out and chairs wonderfully comfortable. Great thought gone into creating relaxed dining atmosphere. Service was second to none. We allowed our waiter to recommend all the dishes and we... more

If you want to spend a lot of money on average food then go here. If not look somewhere else. This level of food is sooo average you can find at many other decent japanese restaurants in NYC spending far less. Friendly serivce from wait staff but maitre d' was different story. We waited in the louge for another guest... more

Delicious food, swanky place, service is eh. Got the restuarant week menu and thought it was amazing. Their crispy asparagus is out of this world. Kobe beef ain't so shabby either. Had a green tea pie for dessert- pretty tasty as well. more

I have one thing to say...Kobe Beef. Have the Kobe Beef Sirloin it was the most memorable few pieces of steak that I have tasted in a while. I also really enjoyed the Asparagus Okaki as my appetizer, althougth it looked a bit phallic, it was very tasty and completely prepared me to have more food. The restaurant is also... more

impressive space if you want to hold a party. Ice scuplture bhudda is a cool touch. Sushi and Kobe beef is the main reason to go eat there. more

The kobe beef steak was terrific but the portion was too small (5 slices to be specific). I'm not sure though if you get the same amount outside of the restaurant week prix fixe menu. more
