We stepped into the Amish Market when we were exploring the areas around our hotel. The fresh fruit looked so tempting, but as soon as we walked in we were drawn to the pastry counter. My grand-daughters splurged on a miniature red velvet cake. My husband and I had bought food at the deli in this store about a decade... More

The prices were very reasonable. If you liked the old Deluca's in Boston you will feel right at home in this market. Full produce section, nice salad bar, deli and grocery options make it worth a trip from nearby hotels.

I generally visit the Amish Market uptown on Ninth Avenue at 50th Street and love the variety and focus on quality. The place has fresh produce in the front with a separate pastry counter nearby where you can buy splendid little cakes and pastries in individual portions for post-theater indulgence. There are separate sections for cheeses, meats, a salad bar,... More

We had a wonderful sightseeing break at the Amish Market. One of us had a brownie while the other had a macaroon and a Linzer cookie. All were good and were just the right amount of energy to send us for many more hours of touring the city.

Our hotel was close to here so we went here a few times. Well organized, great food, quick service, Well worth the trip. Only thing is it gets busy. You may have a wait for seating, but it's worth the wait and on a nice day you could eat outside in a park or bench

Went in and grabbed a quick lunch. The cheeseburger that I got was very good. The groceries were outrageously expensive, though.

My first hint that this was a great place was the line of men in suits holding their soup and waiting for a sandwich. I ate at the buffet a few times, even tried the sushi. Next time I am in NY, I want to be in a 1 block radius of The Amish Market!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
