We tried Pellegrino's for lunch. The prices were reasonable as were the portions. We split a salad with pear, arugula and blue cheese which was fresh, dressed very lightly, and a great beginning. We both tried pastas. Mine was Fettucine Giovanni. The noodles were homemade, tender and the sauce, although a cream, was not heavy. The waiters made sure that... More

Pellegrino's is a solid choice for a tasty lunch in Little Italy. The pasta we had was perfect and the sauce was great. The service was prompt and friendly. The place was hopping.

Firstly, I have to say that I'm not a complainer. Secondly, I love Italian food and I have never sent a meal back or refused to pay before. However, this meal was awful and being a polite(and cliche) Brit it made it rather awkward for me when I was unable to eat a second bite. My partner ate half his... More

Stopped in the afternoon. excellent staff (very nice). Seated and ordered without rush. Meal was perhaps the best that we had in the city. Wife had pesto, I had light sauce with shrimp. Shrimp were best that I have had in long time (and I come from shrimping capital of Texas- I know don;t give me a hard time- but... More

My fiance and I were visiting NYC with friends in December 2014 and they recommended this restaurant. Even though we came during the dinner rush at Christmastime, our party of four was seated within 10 minutes. Our server informed us that they can make many things that are not on the menu, we just needed to ask. I ended up... More

Had a zagat sign outside and urban spooned it so we thought ok! No....we aren't super picky ,but we do appreciate love and care cooked into each meal....this was clearly a case of more is less....quantity was plentiful, but flavor a were below standard...so we took what we had leftover for a hungry person.....the waiter and maitr'd were sweet and... Decided to try this place as one of very few in Little Italy that didn't have anyone on the street trying to entice us in, suggesting it must be doing well on it's own merit. We were seated immediately even at a busy time of day, the service was excellent and the food was wonderful. The interior was well kept... More

Went here with some friends after a matinee and found it average. Temperature in the restaurant was very warm for January and they adjusted it for us which was nice. Service was good as well. My dinner was average although one friend loved her linguine with clam sauce. Just average.

We stopped here on a snowy February and had a wonderful meal. The food was outstanding and the service just right. I would stop again next time in town.

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
