Great Italian restaurant

Old Italian style restaurant in New York City. Good for pizza and pasta. We went on a Monday which was quiet, we were the only ones in there but enjoyed our stay.

Stopped by on a Saturday night, and while they were busy, a party of two wasn't a problem. Excellent service, fantastic food. Little Italy has never disappointed!!!

We had lunch on a Sunday afternoon and were very pleased with our restaurant selection! Our party of 4 started with fried calamari to share. It arrived at our table piping hot from the kitchen ( the way it should be) . Everyone enjoyed. Three of our party had different specials. One was seafood in a spicy red sauce over... More

Such a nice place, serving wonderful food - that being said, the "star of the show" was/is their service. From the owners to all levels of staff, these folks make you feel like family. In particular, our friends took their 2-kids (11 yr old twins). The staff really made these kids have a great time. You don't "teach" this kind... More

The meals were perfect, delicious and served in a timely manner. We had a party of 10 and was not rushed. The waiter service was exceptional and if there was any Italian dishes you wanted and not on the menu they would make it up for you.

I am not sure how they got so many number ratings must be volume verses quality having three to ten times as many reviews as other area restuarants you can make any place come out on top. Food was in a word average. Small portions with little taste, barely warm and overpriced for what it was. Service was attentive but... More

When walking down Mulberry St. there are so many restaurants it is a challenge to decide which one to visit. Last evening we chose Pellegrino's and we are glad that we did. The service was absolutely the best. It was a beautiful evening so we sat outside and enjoyed the surroundings. I ordered the Pollo Scarpari which was excellent @... More

Went here with my family and got a nice table, not the usual table in the back. Food was very good, typical Italian home cooking size, not the mini portions of the haute cuisine. The five stars are not just for the great foods (how much more perfect can you make home made pasta...), but also for the perfect service.... More

We were walking through Chinatown and Little Italy on a Sunday afternoon and stumbled upon Pellegrino's. We had a table on the sidewalk which was great to sit and watch the world go by. Our waiter and the manager were very nice and accommodating. I had the rigatoni alla vodka and my friend had regular spaghetti and meatballs. The food... More

We had reservations on a Friday night at 9:00 - pretty good crowd! Our service was great - Giavanni, our waiter, had lots of suggestions & was very attentive! We enjoyed a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon with our steak & chicken dishes - Black Angus steak & Chicken Palermo. We shared a Caesar salad which was plenty for two people.... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
