Quality food and great service

Decided to try this place as one of very few in Little Italy that didn't have anyone on the street trying to entice us in, suggesting it must be doing well on it's own merit. We were seated immediately even at a busy time of day, the service was excellent and the food was wonderful. The interior... read more

Had a zagat sign outside and urban spooned it so we thought ok! No....we aren't super picky ,but we do appreciate love and care cooked into each meal....this was clearly a case of more is less....quantity was plentiful, but flavor a were below standard...so we took what we had leftover for a hungry person.....the waiter and maitr'd were sweet and... Went here with some friends after a matinee and found it average. Temperature in the restaurant was very warm for January and they adjusted it for us which was nice. Service was good as well. My dinner was average although one friend loved her linguine with clam sauce. Just average.

We stopped here on a snowy February and had a wonderful meal. The food was outstanding and the service just right. I would stop again next time in town.

Our table enjoyed the mozzarella della casa, raviolios, risotto and veal parmisean--all very good. Healthy portions, I could not finish mine. Warm bread and butter--but no olive oil to dip with. If you sit by the window you can people watch. Our reservations were at 6:00pm and that was a good time; within an hour, the place was filled and... More

We had dinner here recently during our visit to NYC. It's been awhile since we have been to Little Italy, so it was nice to be back and it was nice to try a new place for dinner and we thought Pellegrino's was very good. The pasta was very fresh and tasty. The portions were very good and the service... More

If you are only going to have one meal in Little Italy have it here. However if you plan on more than one make this your last since you will be disappointed with the others. Yes Little Italy is primarily a tourist trap but there are still several good places that avoid the touristy feel. Pellegrino's offers fine but casual... More

We were looking for somewhere special to eat for our last night in New York, this time round. Our concierge at Hotel Elysee recommended Pellegrino's amongst a few others for our Italian night. I glad we chose here as we loved it.The service, the food and the ambiance were exactly what we were looking for. A great option if your... More

Went to Pellegrino's at the suggestion of my cousin, who is a regular at this restaurant. The service was very attentive and the food was up to the prices they charged. I had the Linguine alla Sinatra which was served with an ample portion of seafood. Although the shrimp was a little tough, the meal was overall very nice. My... More

This was our second time here, the service was excellent, the wine list is very expensive, there was practically no wine under $40, the food was not actually excellent this time, although was good. The Veal Parmesan two of our group ordered was not that tasty, the calamari and shrimp with pasta was pretty good. This time our experience was... More

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
