I am not sure whether it was because we were tourists (English), but we felt well and truly ripped off. At $190 this was the most expensive meal I have ever had....and the quality .mediocre... not even close to our local Italian in London! The Service is the best I've ever expierenced anywhere. There may be other italian restaurants with food as good, but I certainly haven't found them. The Italian cuisine was simply great. more
I was at Pellegrino's a few short months ago and loved it. I was referred to it by the friend of a friend's wedding. Service was quiet and constant; the staff were warm and hospitable but did not join our party. The lights were low by just a hint, wait staff in their little white jackets, smiling to reveal perfect... more
Food just ok. Service ok. 1st tourist trap. In every table as you seat there is already a bottle of water Pellegrinos. When they ask you what you would like to drink, the bottle there is a nice option and you ask to leave it there. You notice only at the end in the bill that you are charged with... more
After reading reviews, I thought you couldn't go wrong with this restaurant. My local Italian place was 10 times better. Food expensive for quality and quantity. Service was fair. There has to be a much better rest. in NYC. For a kids plate of so called "homemade fettucini", it was $13.50. A total rip-off. more
Pelligrino's service was excellent, nice decor, crowded, food seemed like tourist food....not bad, but not great. more
Superb Italian food, possibly the best in Little Italy. It is though expensive. A place to go for a one-off treat. more
Huge portions allow for sharing. Very good pasta and excellent service. Avoid the canoli. more
I went for an early Friday night dinner... had reservations, but didn't need them. The service was great and comfortable. The food was incredible. I had a special of papperdelle with a cream sauce. My husband has the gnocchi, which was also delicious. The pasta is clearly made fresh, and it shows. I will definitely return. more
Just alright- nothing special. We picked Pellegrinos after reading the glowing Zagat review and were looking forward to an exceptional dinner. The food was just ok, restaurant was very noisy (due to a large party) and cramped. Would not return or recommend. more
