Being from out of town, I didn't know where to go to eat in New York City, and through recomendations from Italian friends in the big apple, my husband and I found VaTutto! Wonderfully prepared food. Simple, yet fresh and delectable dishes. My blood orange prosecco was tart yet refreshing. We were so excited to find a real Italian restaurant... More

My husband and I are just back from a wonderful weekend in New York and we found a terrific restaurant just steps from the intersection of Spring and Lafayette in SoHo: Va Tutto! This charming little restaurant was filling up at seven and bubbling over by eight on a Saturday night. The waitstaff was attentive, the wine was good, and... More

Staying in Nolita

Neighborhood Profile
Nolita
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighborhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighborhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
