Excellent food, incredible bartender Elana!

I've never had a bad meal here. The service is excellent and the food is very good. If you like Italian and you want some old school charm, this is the place for you.

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel as it wasn't far away. We booked to go for our second wedding anniversary meal and were not disappointed! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cosy & romantic and I had emailed in advance asking if we could be sat somewhere in a corner to make it more private. We were... More

Just a dlightful place. Cozy, dark, relatively small, but not too noisy. Another reviewer described it as "authentic Italian" and I would agree. The food was just that and the interior had a real authentic feel to it. I had a Lobster Ravioli (it was a special that evening) that was marvelous. Sauce was delicate, pasta tender. Wonderful. Staff was... More

Ecco is on Chambers Street in the heart of the Municipal district and I have passed it countless times on my way to some business meeting or other. I'd always tell myself that I would stop and I'm delighted I finally did. Ecco is a vanishing breed in our town. Old style gracious dining at the tables or at the... More

This was one of the best italian restaurants I have ever ate in. If you are in Tribeca you must try this food.

White tablecloths and waiters in black tie attempt to give an 'upscale' feel to a mainly Jersey and tourist crowd. Food was good quality - classic Italian dishes, but unimaginative and somewhat dated. Tribeca has far more interesting places to eat at these prices!

Ecco happened to be across the street from the Tribeca hotel we stayed in. What a great surprise! Decor is traditional old town New York Bar/Restaurant, and it happened to be decked out for the Xmas holidays. I had Linguini & Clams, wife had Linguini Pescatore, both at least as good as we've ever had, including in Italy. Fast, friendly... More

We found this restaurant by chance after visiting 9/11 memorial. Service was first class from the second we walked in the door. Prices were a bit steep, and we were not offered set lunch menu, otherwise 5 stars would be awarded. Food was piping hot and tasted great, wine top quality, and poryions just right. If in area seek this... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
