Good everytime

The folks at the millennium Hilton recommended Ecco and as soon as I opened the door I knew I had been there before several years ago. The service at this place is terrific. The pasta dishes my companion and u had were delicious and I would highly recommend it if you are nearby.

We visited this restaurant on recommendation from our hotel concierge on our first night in New York. It does not look much from outside, but inside you have a very traditional New York Italian experience with wonderful food and great service. This is most definitely not your standard pizza and pasta place but instead Is significantly a cut above. Highly... More

This is a very small spot whose exterior belies the delights that await inside. From the old tin ceilings to the absolutely gorgeous wood bar to the tile floor, this place is a throwback in a good way. We started with an order of the vongole oreganata which were tiny but quite good (I prefer a larger clam versus the... More

Recommended by staff at our hotel. Easy 6 block walk from Ground Zero. My braised veal was tasty but lacked subtlety of better examples. Risotto heavy and very tomato sauced.

We had lovely prawn and mussel starters but my husband clam linguine was in his words the worst he'd ever had. The clams were so tough it was almost inedible. Was expensive for what it was

While staying at The Smyth I asked the concierge for an Italian restaurant recommendation. He told me about Ecco, which is just around the corner from The Smyth. Could not have been happier with the restaurant. Classic Italian food presented by Italian gentlemen waiters. The wine list was very nice as well. Will come back every time I'm in the... More

A lovely italian restaurant that made us feel very special dining there. The food was wonderful and tasy, service attentive and wine flowed! A great experience.

I visited the restaurant for the first time this week and it was a terrible experience. We were a total of eight friends so when I order the wine I asked to make sure they had enough bottles. After the first round I order the second bottle and I was told it was the last one. This was a very... More

We stayed around the corner at a hotel and stopped in for a drink wild we waited for the room. What a wonderful surprise when the food and service was so awesome. We had the calamari fradiavolo (made less spicy for me) and the shrimp. Excellent. They also serve up a small plate of antipasti and bread complimentary. I can't... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
