Not bad for a quick lunch

Quick stop. Sandwiches are not cheap and they are somewhat small but it was quick, there is a good seating area and the ingredients were good. I had a peanut butter and jelly and my friend had ham and cheese. Both were on very good bread.

Not sure what's happened here. I visit a business just across the street and love to come in here early just to drink the wonderful coffee and have a pastry. Not any more. The coffee was uninspired and the croissant over-baked (and cold - even Starbucks will warm it up for you). The piped music was so loud you couldn't... More

Not cheap, but very good sandwiches and salads, in the incredibily charming environment of Bryant Park. Nice to have lunch there!

We were at Chelsea Piers waiting to catch a tour boat and needed to find a place for a quick bite. I was surprised that there weren't more choices at the pier so we decided to try Wichcraft since it was close. First the good - quality of the sandwich was excellent as was the food and service. The bad... More

Stopped in to the Flatiron location for lunch with my college student son. We both enjoyed our sandwiches (I had the Heritage Smoked Ham, which comes on grilled cranberry bread - yum) and he had the Chunky PBJ, and pronounced it delicious. The menu had many interesting sandwich items -- I found it difficult to choose which one to try,... More

It's basically a decent development of a kiosk. Food is mediocre, but the place is cool and funky. The only decent place for a snack on the piers. I had the humus sandwich but it was a vegetable sandwich with a lick of humus. Too much bread. Orange juice was fresh though.

Love the hand crafted sandwiches from wichcraft for a quick and delicious lunch. Big fan of the zucchini & mozzarella sandwich which comes toasted on grilled bread with fresh tomatoes and parmesan cheese. Also a great delivery option if you need to order in!

I know I shouldn't be surprised at NYC prices anymore because the day we went here was the day we were leaving. We had a nice lunch at Bryant Park. I chose the BLT, almost $10, he the PB&J, almost $5. Both sandwiches were of good quality but I just have a hard time with a sandwich being almost $10.... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
