Very trendy, very good, quite pricey

This was my 2nd time here (1st time was 1 yr. ago). Fun, noisy, enjoyable. This is one of the "IT" restaurants in NYC's Chelsea/Union Sq. area, Difficult to get a reservation. i've heard sometimes you can just walk in and be seated. Judging by the swarms of people waiting, I wouldn"t bet on it... read more

The food here was good. I wouldnt say amazing. And the staff was blahhh. No personality. They never smiled. Almost made you uncomfortable. There are so many other amazing restaurants in NYC I probably wouldnt come here again.

Went for brunch and extremely disappointed. Farm raised salmon and lox at a sustainable, organic restaurant was a shocking short cut. Flavorless appetizers, terribly dried out breakfast potatoes. Pizza with egg was excellent but wouldn't return as other items were flavorless and lacked creativity even though locally sourced. Maybe dinner is better there's much better

A group of us went to ABC Kitchen for dinner the first day it opened after the hurricane. The menu was based on what the markets had that day - it was well done. Our waitress was very upbeat and knowledgeable about every dish like the ingredients and how they are prepared. Love all the wood beams, big log tables... More

A really stunning, stylish and charming atmosphere with innovative cooking and fantastically fresh ingredients. The service was thoroughly professional but in an unobtrusive way and friendly at the same time. The waiter knew exactly how each dish was put together and was happy to explain. My kind of place!

Grouch first: thisis eye-wateringly priced - $16 for a small glass of Sauvignon, $11 for a (OK excellent) juice. Brunch for six came in at nearly $500. So it had better be jolly good. Luckily it was. The decor and plate settings are fun, the service good but not overwhelming and the food distinctive. I thought the beet and ginger... More

Still yummy. Not empty at lunch at all. We started with squash on toast---like brusschetta-delicious. I had lentil soup.. Then I had roast brussels sprouts in mustard--great. Desserts I tried the salted caramel ice cream and my friend had concord grape tart. The latte was large and lovely. All in all a lovely birthday celebration I was so pleased to... More

From the moment I stepped foot in this restaurant I fell in love. The decor reminds me of an enchanted garden...the food was sublime & the prices were reasonable! My friends & I had a sampling of the menu & we liked everything... The beet & yogurt is a must!!!

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
