I know so many others give this place rave reviews, but based on my experience, I can't understand it. I would never return here, and I will encourage others not to, as well. 1. The food was straight-up not good or "meh" at best, with a small number of items that were decent. We started with the pretzel-dusted calamari, which... More

A great great lunch. The toasts are divine, the salads so imaginative. The drink was wonderful but stingy on the drink. The place is so beautiful and great service.

This place is un-freaking-believable! It deserves every amazing review it gets. The decor is a bit antiquey, a bit farm house, a bit old fashioned, and a bit beautiful. I loved the inside of this restaurant. I even aid to my husband, "we should have gotten married here! It's beautiful! " My husband ordered the pretzel crusted calamari and the... More

Just north of Union Square, this place was packed out on a very cold February evening, with fashionable young things as well as plenty of affluent looking 30s to 50 something's. Interesting menu and broad wine list, we had a roasted carrot and avocado salad which was substantial and very tasty, then a rich pasta special with truffle shavings (good... More

This is a great find just off Union Square. Everything was remarkably good, including my calamari appetizer and red snapper entree. The veggies were very fresh and they have a nice wine selection.

We had great service and food at ABCkitchen. Try the sundae for dessert! Homemade salted Carmel ice cream with homemade Carmel corn, nuts, fudge and hand whipped cream to top it off. Their basil infused drinks were so awesome! We had their specials of the evening. If you like great food with garden fresh ingredients you will love the array... More

The food in this informal Jean Georges restaurant is truly amazing, we had a beautiful lobster, a great pork confit, fabulous pasta with kale, tried sunchokes for the first time and loved them! The waiter suggested every single dish, and I cannot say which one was better! This restaurant will be one on our list of favorites in NY for... More

I could never get a reservation in this restaurant through OpenTable. On a snowy Tuesday evening, I managed to get reservation for 3 . When we arrived, we got promptly seated. In the front there is a bar area and from outside it seems it is a small restaurant. But in the back, there is a large amount of space.... More

We had an excellent dinner here. Food was beautiful and the service was excellent. It is on the more expensive side but it is worth it. We had a long wait for our food but we were given a free desert. I wish I had bought the cookbook.

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
