Description: One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed...
One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests for close to two decades to enjoy seasonal American cuisine, warm hospitality and unparalleled service. The restaurant is perennially ranked at the top of Zagat Survey’s ‘Most Popular’ list, and has garnered eight James Beard Awards including ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ and ‘Best Chef: NYC’. Chef Michael Anthony’s highly seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant’s relationships with local farms and purveyors. The Main Dining Room serves prix-fixe menus starting at $92 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch, and accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The more casual Tavern serves an a la carte menu centered around the wood burning grill, and welcomes guests on a walk-in basis. The restaurant also features an acclaimed wine list, and thoughtfully selected beer and cocktail offerings.

We had an excellent lunch in the dining room (the restaurant is split in a more simple tavern and a gourmet dining room). The price was absolutely justified for the set lunch menue. Service was very good. Nothing to complain, fully recommendable. Reservation is necessary.

They offer a fixed price dinner menu at 4 levels, 3-course, 5-course and then either with wine pairings. The food was just the right amount. The service was outstanding. They don't use trays and just had a group of waiters, one per person delivered each course. The rigatoni blognese appetizer was out of this world.

From start to finish, dining at the Gramercy Dining Room was a delicious and enjoyable experience. If you just look at prices, of course it is expensive; but it is a night out and you pay no more than you would for an average dinner and movie. In this instance you enjoy delicious and meticulously prepared food, superior service, the... More

Amazing food. Fantastic , if not exactly cheap selection of wines. They even give you muffins to take away for breakfast. Nice touch. Overall a very memorable experience and couldn't recommend highly enough.

Made a 1pm lunch reservation and they accommodated me at 1215. A very pretty restaurant, with lots of flower arrangements. Opted for the tasting menu. After the amuse bouche, the 1st starter of scallops was light and tasty. The 2nd pasta dish was very good. The arctic char was the best I ever had. The duck was beautifully cooked. Dessert... More

My friend suggested this restaurant for lunch based on their Trip Advisor reviews. We got here around 3PM on a Friday for a late lunch and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table which was fine. The hostess was wonderful - very sweet and attentive while we waited. The cocktails are delicious and there was plenty to pick... More

We went for the tasting menu, I don't eat meat, only fish. They were really good about accommodating that. The food was wonderful and there are lots of little extras. They also brought a cake out for my husband's birthday. The decor (particularly they floral arrangements) is truly stunning and the staff were brilliant. 3 hours in there flew by... More

The first thing you notice when stepping in is the amazing floral arrangements Gramercy has in the entry, the bar, and the dining room. They are truly breath taking. But that's not why you are there. The cocktails were great and the menu selection was superb. The menu, like the floral arrangements change regularly with the season. Excellent place for... More

The restaurant is beautiful and the service was very attentive. The menu is prix fixe and is quite expensive however the food is nothing you could replicate. Every bite was delicious and we specially enjoyed the lamb.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
