Description: One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests for close to two decades to enjoy seasonal American cuisine, warm hospitality and unparalleled service. The restaurant is perennially ranked at the top of Zagat Survey’s ‘Most Popular’ list, and has garnered eight James Beard Awards including ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ and ‘Best Chef: NYC’. Chef Michael Anthony’s highly seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant’s relationships with local farms and purveyors. The Main Dining Room serves prix-fixe menus starting at $92 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch, and accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The more casual Tavern serves an a la carte menu centered around the wood burning grill, and welcomes guests on a walk-in basis. The restaurant also features an acclaimed wine list, and thoughtfully selected beer and cocktail offerings.

Very nice place to have dinner, with great atmosphere and food. We tried the most interesting smoke salmon ever in this restaurant, all dishes made with care, sophisticated and not pretentious, everything to have a good time. Staff polite and efficient.

I was so very excited to dine at Gramercy Tavern, when if first opened, my father wanted to take me to dinner here. Sadly, he died shortly after that. Fast forward, years later, 2014, my amazing husband decided to take me to a special birthday lunch at Gramercy Tavern, he is from England and this was his first visit to... More

Went there for an early dinner at 5:30. The good thing: with few tables occupied, there is no noise - of course, this got worse in the course of the meal. Next good thing: they know how to do the timing in a sequenced dinner (rare exception in the US, unfortunately). Main good thing: the food is really sublime, creative... More

Not a cheap date, but perhaps the best and most creative food I've ever relished. The ambiance, the service, and the pace were all outstanding. Really, nothing more to say!

It is hard to write an objective review of a restaurant that has been a "go to" for over ten years. Solo, business, friends, even a wedding anniversary visit here have always been rewarding for food, service and ambiance. The duck liver pâté with a glass of Kir Royale is my favorite starter in the tavern, followed by whatever catches... More

Wow what food ! And the service is unbelievable. The oysters are meaty, fresh and delicious. My wife had the calamari appetizer which tasted like manna. My lasagna was awesome as was her sea bass. The best lunch I've ever had in my 42 years of NYC dining. Gotta try dinner there soon.

My wife and I went to Gramercy, last night, with a friend. Our server was great and very attentive. However, my wife really disliked her fish and had to send it back. Since we were all restricted to selecting from the same fixed price section of menu (we opted for the 92 dollar per head option rather than the 120... More

Me and my wife were looking for a nice restaurant for our 1st anniversary dinner whilst out in NY and after looking around online, checking trip advisor and emailing our hotel we chose Gramercy Tavern and couldn't have been happier. We had to confirm the booking once we were out in NY and they made sure to ask if it... More

One is to make a reservation for the dining room and then enjoy your dinner with impeccable service in an opulent setting. The other is to walk in and eat in the tavern / bar area. This will require an hour (or more) wait during dinner hours and will be a shorter menu. Either way, you will get some of... More

My daughter and I had dinner at GT in the bar area after about a half hour wait (great, considering it was originally going to be 1.5 hours). Like other reviewers, I really wanted to go to this restaurant, and was determined to eat here before I left New York. Finally, on my last night in town, we decided to... More
