Description: One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests for close to two decades to enjoy seasonal American cuisine, warm hospitality and unparalleled service. The restaurant is perennially ranked at the top of Zagat Survey’s ‘Most Popular’ list, and has garnered eight James Beard Awards including ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ and ‘Best Chef: NYC’. Chef Michael Anthony’s highly seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant’s relationships with local farms and purveyors. The Main Dining Room serves prix-fixe menus starting at $92 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch, and accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The more casual Tavern serves an a la carte menu centered around the wood burning grill, and welcomes guests on a walk-in basis. The restaurant also features an acclaimed wine list, and thoughtfully selected beer and cocktail offerings.

Food and staff were both lovely. As we were on our honeymoon, the we received complimentary champagne and extra dessert. Wonderful restaurant!

Called at The Gramercy Tavern on Sat Nov 15th to celebrate my birthday while we were on holiday in NYC. Aimed to eat in the tavern, arrived at 6pm and told that the wait was 2 hrs..fine by us so we headed to the bar for some pre-meal drinks. Met barman Jeremy who,in the words of my wife, made the... If you are looking for a trendy see and be seen restaurant this is definitely it. And you will pay for it., I don't think I have encountered a ruder hostess anywhere in NYC and that's saying a lot. The clientele is very attractive and fashionable so if that's what you want to see in NYC this is your spot.... More

We visit Gramercy when we went to New York for couple of days holiday. I originally tried to book elsewhere but it was fully booked (28 days before). So I find this place and I'm glad that we went here. Place is nice and relatively quiet and it was quite warm so you can be just in shirt (it was... More

We dined at 6pm in dining room choosing the seasonal tasting menu. Food variety and quality were exceptional. Service was excellent without the feeling of rush for the later sitting. Tavern area seemed very busy, so we were pleased we accepted opportunity to sit in formal area which filled up during the evening. Our party of 4 people considered the... More

Food has nice texture and flavor. I was surprised they don't provide any amuse bouche to start. Dessert quality didn't match other plates. The service was little bit amateur and servers had no smile. They asked what they want to write on dessert as we were celebrating my father's bday but none of our dessert had happy bday written on... More

This is my all around favorite restaurant in New York. It's comfortable. The staff is well trained. No pretentions. The food is excellent and for a light dinner, the bar is a great choice. I've been going here for years and I have never had a bad experience.

Went there on my wifes recommendation . The menu is different and shorter than the main room, but the food is still brilliant. The bass I had was perfectly cooked and the oysters on the half shell were iced to perfection. Even the cocktail sauce was the best I've ever had. Also delicious was the subtle fish stew with hunks of... More

We were quite cold when we arrived around 4:30. They don't take reservations for,the 'tavern' part of the restaurant, and does it get full! The service was wonderful! My husband and I ordered some soup that was left over from lunch (a roasted tomato..awesome) and their incredible pate. Wow! The couple we were meeting were hung up in traffic and... More

If you're located anywhere near Gramercy Park I would recommend taking the time to get a reservation in this wonderful restaurant. My husband and I went for an anniversary dinner and from start to finish we had an amazing experience. The staff were very welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable. We decided upon the 7 course tasting meal and we weren't disappointed,... More
