Description: One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed...
One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests for close to two decades to enjoy seasonal American cuisine, warm hospitality and unparalleled service. The restaurant is perennially ranked at the top of Zagat Survey’s ‘Most Popular’ list, and has garnered eight James Beard Awards including ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ and ‘Best Chef: NYC’. Chef Michael Anthony’s highly seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant’s relationships with local farms and purveyors. The Main Dining Room serves prix-fixe menus starting at $92 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch, and accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The more casual Tavern serves an a la carte menu centered around the wood burning grill, and welcomes guests on a walk-in basis. The restaurant also features an acclaimed wine list, and thoughtfully selected beer and cocktail offerings.

Oh My Lord

This place is amazing. We have dined here on several occasions now. Our service and dining experiences have been nothing short of excellent. The atmosphere is great in both the dining area and the bar. You will not be disappointed.

A well known bar in New York which didn't disappoint. The more formal Dining Room takes reservations. The bar doesn't but it's well worth the wait for a table. We sat at the bar to have a drink whilst waiting but ending up eating our whole meal sat at the bar as the atmosphere is just fantastic....attentive, knowledgable staff and... More

Really, it's the ne plus ultra of restaurant dining. Great wines, great food, perfect service. When we demurred on dessert, we were given a coat check tag which have a a box in which we found two of the best chocolate chip cookies. I'd give 6 stars if I could. Will I return? Ha bad much as I can.

We had been looking forward to this meal for months based on this restaurant's reputation as one of the best dining establishments in New York. I wanted only the 3 course menu and my companion wanted the 7 course tasting menu but the waiter explained we both had to have the same menu for timing purposes. We both chose the... More

Have been to many restaurants in NYC and elsewhere, and this one is superb - possibly the best overall ever experienced. The service was polished and prompt. We had the tasting menu and the flavored of each of the six courses just exploded in your mouth. All different. Each course seemed small in portion size, but after all courses and... More

This is my second time here. The staff is so helpful. I honestly feel like they want to get you exactly what you will love. We did the 5 course prix fix tasting going no meat for palm Sunday and they completely where able to adjust and accommodate for this. Every single course was exceptional. I believe it was a... More

Both food and ambiance were very good. We had the 3 courses prix fixe menu which offered a good selection of choices. Our server was very helpful, attentive but not intrusive. All in all, a perfect meal.

A meal at any of Danny Meyer's restaurants reflects his notion of 'enlightened hospitality.' The attention to detail: food, service, ambiance, and the imperceptibles the diner is not even aware of, add up to truly memorable experiences. But this birthday lunch at Gramercy Tavern was one for the books. The Spring Lettuce soup was remarkable. Can't wait to go back.

The restaurant is very beautifull and the staff is friendly. I had one of the best meals ever and look foward to be there again. In the lunch the restaurant seems to be a little more casual. And I would recommend to make reservations.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
