BEST bakery in town!

The selection of pasteries goes on and on and everything I have tasted is delicious beyond comparison. Hands down the best strawberry shortcake I have ever had! I tried their Mochachino this visit and it was unbelievable!

This is the place you go to if you're looking for a true Italian dessert. The Cannoli and Ricotta Cheesecake from here will make you never wish to go to another

Called in for an afternoon treat after been recommend by a work colleague, first impression was how friendly the staff were, secondly the décor is fabulous, after been seated and being amazed at the pastries and cake choice (it was huge), we opted for chocolate cannoli and a New York cheese cake with strawberry's, both of us had made a... We visited Veniero's for the first time, after having had dinner in the neighborhood. We did not know what to expect, since we decided to go there based only on internet reviews. We were not disappointed. We were there around 8:30 PM on Saturday. The place, especially the take-out section was packed. The cafe section was also almost full, but... More

Those are fighting words but I've lived in both cities and this place has the largest selection of desserts I've ever seen and killer coffee drinks. It's from the late 1800s and has survived for a good reason. The espresso was perfect. Good gelato but not the best (tiny chunks of ice and not the richest flavored). However the cheesecakes... This place is almost always packed to the point where there is very little standing room to even walk in. However, it is worth the wait. The New York and Italian cheesecakes blew any other cheesecake I've ever tried out of the water.

A friend recommended Veniero's on a.recent trip to New York. Coming from a city with excellent Italian bakeries, I was skeptical. I'm now a big fan. Four of us had pastries or cheesecake one evening, with coffee and Amaretto liqueur. The desserts were wonderful and the coffees rich and delicious. We sat and talked for a long time, and the... The restaurant itself is quite large. When you walk in, all you see is cakes and cookies and pastries. The cappuccino is very, very good. Cannolis are fresh and the shell is crisp. Napolians light and creamy. It boasts that it has been family owned and run since 1894. I believe it. They must have passed down the right baking... More

My husband spotted this place and we decided to give it a try. Cheescake is AMAZING!! I loved that it was gluten free (no crust on it) you can also get a sugar free version. Environment was wonderful seating was nice, not so noisy that you couldn't hear each other talk. I would highly reccommend this spot!!

My friends and I were in Brooklyn and some one decided they wanted a cannoli! I said I had heard of this place that was supposed to be one of the oldest and best Italian dessert places in the city. So we looked it up and headed to the East Village...best decision ever!! The trip was well worth it! And... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
