This place has been around so long and there must be good reason. I personally found my dessert decent, nothing out of this world good, just a decent chocolate slice of cake. My partner got a coconut cake that I took a bite of that was also just fine. Nothing bad to say about the food but if you're... read more

Put aside your calorie counters and make sure you get your 10K steps for the day before entering Veniero's for dessert. You'll be glad. Row upon row of Italian cookies and pastries for you to take home and enjoy--OR, you can go into the back and sit in the 19th century splendor of a room with tile floors and ornately... More

I must admit I only tried one Cannoli, however, it was the best I have ever had. Ever. I must go back and try more of the pastries. The space has been there for over 100 years – in New York this is a huge achievement and sign of quality. The space is charming and definitely worth a visit. I... More

Veniero's is an Italian bakery that's been serving my neighborhood since before my great grandparents lived here. They make pretty much every classic Italian dessert you can think of - from cannoli to Sicilian cheesecake and gelato. You can order at the front counter and take your desserts to go, or you can sit in the back dining room for... More

I remember the first time I went to Veniero's about half a decade ago for my birthday. It was like a Willy Wonka dream. This place is a paradise for the sweet-addict. It's been around for 121 years! It was established in 1894. In all the times I have been there, never has there not been a line. Best to... More

We just stumbled upon this pasticceria after having lunch in Momofuku Noodle Bar. On a busy day you have to pick up a number and serve you as they call your number. They were very attentive with lots of variety of choices. We chose 2 types of baba rum which was our most favorite of all the hint of rum... More

At the recommendation of a business contact that lives in the area, my family and I stopped here for dessert after dinner at John's on 12th. What an excellent selection of wonderful desserts!! Between the four of us, we ordered something chocolate, tiramisu, something strawberry, plain cheesecake and a vanilla cannoli. I'd probably prefer Cheesecake Factory cheesecake, but we love... Recently went to Veniero’s Pastry with family one weekend and the pastries there are amazing! This was my first time going to Veniero’s, so I was not really sure what to expect. Besides being a pastry shop they have tables in the back where you can sit and enjoy an assortment of Italian cookies, gelato, and pastries. Since my husband... More

Came here with friends for coffee and desserts. Such a variety of desserts and so much to choose from. You cant go wrong with what you pick because everything is amazing here. Customer service was great and there Cafe Lotto (coffee with vanilla gelato) was fantastic.

This is a very busy place, and I have purchased cheesecake 4 or 5 times there. However on my takeout cake today there was a long hair in the middle. Why do people not wear hair nets?

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
