Famly Tradition

Me and My family have been frequenting for years - in fact my parents had ordered their wedding cake there back in 1947. We go there several times a year loading up on the delicious pasteries, cheese cakes, pignoli cookies and especially the anisette toast. Everything is always so fresh and so... read more

Veniero's is a classic, old style Italian pastry and dessert shop on 11th Street off Second Avenue in the East Village. It has a wide selection of Italian dessert treats. We like the minis-- canolis, fruit tarts, baba rhums, cheesecakes, napoleons, mille feuilles, plus larger sized cakes, cookies, pies, and marzipan treats. It is very crowded around key holidays so... Oh. My. God. This place. So many delicious pastries that you don't know what to order.A bit expensive, but worth it.

I was actually thinking of Ferrara's but someone told me to go here. The place has been around since 1894! It was very good. I ordered a 2 dozen mini cannoli to take on the plane with me. It was expensive 36$. Service was good and friendly. But I'll go back to Ferrara's next time to compare. It's been around... More

I went to Veniero's on July 23rd, 2014 - I sat down with friends for coffee and pastry. I paid with credit card - skinny man with beard took my card into the back to process. Several days later I was alerted my credit card numbers had been stolen - Veniero's was the only place I used the card the... More

I have NEVER understood the appeal of this place. I can only conclude that Twinkie and Hostess junkies shifted their affections to Veniero's when they got older and had more money and heard their sugar-junkie friends raving about it. Nothing in this establishment is in any way charming, delicious, or refined (except the sugar). Even thinking about the cloying Italian... More

We walked all the way across the East Village to find this place late Friday Night, and we were not disappointed that we had. The Desserts are absolutely amazing! This is all that they serve. We had Tiramisu and New York Style Cheese cake with our coffees. They were both excellent. We had already picked out what we wanted to... More

This place is outstanding! If you are looking for a high quality dessert place, this is it! It's been around for more than 100 years and rightfully so. This is a great place to go and have dessert and coffee. It's hard to choose because they have so many delectable treats. I am looking forward coming back!

NYC is known for their cheesecake, but this place blows it out of the water! It has been around for ages for a reason. While not on a main street, you must make this a stop. The NYC cheesecake is the lightest and smoothest I have ever tasted. We also had the tiramisu cake and it was delicious. The cakes... More

I stop here every time in NYC and this place is in the same street where I stay (dangerous as I can drop in 4 times a week) I have tried most of the little cakes on display and they certainly transport you to Italy. Without fail I always take home a Tiramisu WOW this is beautiful. The chocolate cannoli... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
