I went here with friends, having been here some time ago. This time I was a bit disappointed. I had the key lime pie which is seasonable. It didn't taste like lime at all. However the others I was with really enjoyed their dessert. I've had wonderful desserts there in the past and the cannoli is especially good. There is... More

We headed here for some cannolis and ended up walking out with a box full of delicious goodies all for just over $10US. Great value for the quality of stuff. Just going into the bakery was worth the experience to look at all the tasty options they had available to choose from. If you are a dessert person, put this... More

A traditional pastry and bakery shop provides an authetic taste of italian pastry in NYC. It is definitely worth to give it a trial even it is not close to the tourism area. We just tried mixed berries tart for this time and the pastry was crunchy and the berries were fresh ! Really can't wait to try again !

The selection of pasteries goes on and on and everything I have tasted is delicious beyond comparison. Hands down the best strawberry shortcake I have ever had! I tried their Mochachino this visit and it was unbelievable!

Called in for an afternoon treat after been recommend by a work colleague, first impression was how friendly the staff were, secondly the décor is fabulous, after been seated and being amazed at the pastries and cake choice (it was huge), we opted for chocolate cannoli and a New York cheese cake with strawberry's, both of us had made a... We visited Veniero's for the first time, after having had dinner in the neighborhood. We did not know what to expect, since we decided to go there based only on internet reviews. We were not disappointed. We were there around 8:30 PM on Saturday. The place, especially the take-out section was packed. The cafe section was also almost full, but... More

Those are fighting words but I've lived in both cities and this place has the largest selection of desserts I've ever seen and killer coffee drinks. It's from the late 1800s and has survived for a good reason. The espresso was perfect. Good gelato but not the best (tiny chunks of ice and not the richest flavored). However the cheesecakes... Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
