Quirky and fun

The restaurant itself is very eclectic and the waitstaff try to make it fun. The frozzzen hot chocolate is outstanding but the food is just mediocre. They were out of whipped cream during our visit but they worked hard to make the frozzzen hot chocolate good. Kudos to the waitstaff.

I would like to start off with how excited I was to bring my closest friends and boyfriend to Serendipity 3 for my 25th Birthday. I had been to this restaurant a few times with my family when I was younger & thought this would be the perfect place. I had made the reservation almost 2 weeks prior to my... More

I was on a business trip and my client recommended that if we go downtown, we should check out this shop. I don't think I would have ever stopped in on my own and a bit hard to see. It was wonderful! We had the frozen hot chocolate and the stawberry cheesecake with stawberry ice cream and cut all the... More

If you are looking for an amazing place for desserts in a quaint little location this is it! Went here for two reasons A, the movie and B, the Frozen Hot Chocolate! I had the peanut butter frozen hot chocolate and for days that was all I wanted! The serving size was beyond my expectation, it was HUGE! It's a... More

It's cozy, it's quaint and more than likely you will find one of the original owners sitting at the little table with his ledger by the front of the restaurant. Are the entrées impeccable? No, but the dessert is and so is the history of this charming little café. This would be my second visit to Serendipity 3 and it... More

DO NOT EAT DINNER!! Their food is horrible the choices for food is horrible. This is a tiny place with tiny tables. I was pleased to be seated right away on a Sunday evening with no reservation needed. I had the French toast stuffed with cream cheese it was so horrible. After hearing from my husband that the shooting for "Serendipity" happened here,I have always wanted to visit this place. We even tried going there before on christmas eve,but as fate intended, it was closed early that day. Finally on my friends birthday,we finally visited it so that I can eat at this famous place. There was a big list to choose between,after... More

The food is amazing, staff are friendly. On my first visit one of my guests didn't like what he ordered, the item was replaced immediately with another dish (without requesting for this) and didn't add the amount to the bill. The only negative thing is that strollers/wheel chairs are not allowed. I wanted my mother to try but couldn't because... More

I've wanted to visit Serendipity for their frozen hot chocolate ever since the first time I heard about it on Oprah and I was finally able to make it there many many years later. I arrived there for dinner one night when it was super crowded and yet they were kind enough to make room for me despite the fact... More

Went to serendipity on Saturday for brunch. From start to finish it was great service. Our waiter was so upbeat and friendly, and gave great recommendations for menu choice. The food was great. Decent portions. Good flavour. I had the omelette while my partner had the mix grill. There was a queue outside the restaurant to get in, because people... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
