Ok, the place is cute. Decoration-wise it's original and different from other places. But the line and the waiting time are ridiculously unjustified. Service was friendly and they did take note of our order rather quick, however it took over 45 minutes to deliver a burger and an omelet. On top of that, the menu is totally overpriced for what... My wife and I visited Serendipity 3 on a Wednesday, at about 11:30 a.m,. to avoid the weekend crowds. When we stepped inside, I was shocked how tiny the actual restaurant was. There is a short extremely narrow vestibule with a podium where an employee informs you how long the wait will be and asks how many in your group.... More

Coming to New York, part of my must-do list is a visit to Serendipity 3. When I arrived, there was a long queue outside. I just talked to the waitress and told her I was alone so luckily I got seated immediately on the second floor! The place was smaller than I thought. Decorations were fancy and girly. I fell... More

Headed here after a visit to Central Park. Our first visit, and our forty minute wait estimate turned out to be more than an hour. We were visiting to try the frozen hot chocolate but we weren't aware there is a minimum charge of $9.00 per person so we had to order something else. The hot chocolate was good, but... More

We venture into NYC every so often to grab a bite to eat. Serendipity 3 is always on the list of possibilities. While the frozen hot chocolate is one of the items they're famous for, I highly recommend the Shake, Batter & Bowl fried chicken. It comes in a wooden bowl with steak fries and is the hands-down best fried... More

Got the caramel frozen hot chocolate. Was really just like chocolate milk with a load of cream on top. Very big.10 minute wait. Service was good. Probably many better places for dessert in the city. Liked the restaurant style

Very mediocre experience. We went there to see where the movie was filmed, and because I had fond memories of going there when I was younger. It seems tired. The frozen hot chocolate still delivered, but the rest of the fare was just OK. The word must be getting out, too, because we had no trouble getting a table. In... More

Every time in NYC we make an effort to get here for dessert. It is such a unique place and the desserts are so terrific. We actually went here following a long day in Central Park. Be prepared for a bit of a wait. They do offer food in addition to great deserts.

I know this place is expensive which is not a problem when the food is good, but in our case it was not. We ordered a banana split which was over 16.00. It was very small and it had more whip cream than ice cream. Don't waste your time or money, major tourist trap!!!

The frozen hot chocolate and sundaes are to die for. Skip the mains and go straight for dessert! Call ahead for a table.
