Vivolo is a gem! It was highly recommended and did not disappoint. Our party of six had a reservation after attending a recent Broadway matinee. We knew we were in for a treat when we were led to the upstairs dining room and it seemed like everyone was at our service. The attention to detail was superb, yet not overbearing.... More

We were treated to dinner at Vivolo by a family member who lives across the street. She eats there often and was welcomed like a lost relative. It's old school New York and we Okies loved it. Small. Intimate . Attentive service. Handsome men in expensive suits recommend wonderful things. Waiters in red jackets who are there when you need... More

e were in NYC doing museums and walking in Central Park and ended up here for an early dinner. I made a reservation through Open Table and the staff was very welcoming. We were seated on the 2nd floor, which is a beautiful fire-placed "parlor", complete with gold leaf trim ceiling. There is a 3 course Prix Fixe menu for... More

Food was average at best. We ate here with6 people. None of us were overwhelmed or even impressed. I had grizzly veal. The gnocchi was served in a sauce that was too heavy. The service was very good, but slow. Very expensive. All in all, pretty unsatisfactory.

We had a large group and they slammed a long table into a booth table which left two seats in a very awkward position. The service was rather slow, but by all accounts the food was thoroughly enjoyed from salads, to pastas to fish and meat courses. Recommend the food, and perhaps the kitchen will be faster next time. The... More

Outstanding service and an interesting and diverse menu of traditional and unique Italian cuisine. This is my 2nd time dining at Vivolo and I will make it a required place for dinner when I visit NYC. There is consistency in excellence across their pastas, fish and meat dishes. Also a great place for a business dinner. Molto delizioso !

I was on the upper east side and spoke with a NY friend who recommended Vivolo to me. Coming back from a visit to Central Park we came down 74th street and ran into it. I walked down into this lovely, quaint restaurant & asked if they could accommodate 8 people. Carmine, the man in charge immediately had his crew... More

Vivolo pleases not just one's teeth but also one's palate AND one's vanity -- their service is SO obliging. We came here after seeing a doctor, around the corner. Both our prognoses weren't the happiest, BUT, lunching here uplifted us totally! We gorged on the Chilled Shrimp and Frutti Di Mare 'appetizers' -- fresh & piquant & as big as... More

We had a nice inexpensive lunch on the take-away side. Not much ambience but I am sure the real restaurant has that. Nice side trip from shopping.

We were staying in the neighbourhood and tried this restaurant primarily because of the short walk from our hotel. We were SO GLAD we did as it is FABULOUS! I can only imagine that it is not higher up the trip advisor ratings as most of the customers were old time regulars and want to keep the place a secret!... More
