Description: CAFÉ BOULUD features a French-American menu inspired by Chef Daniel...
CAFÉ BOULUD features a French-American menu inspired by Chef Daniel Boulud's four culinary muses: la tradition, classic French cuisine; la saison, seasonal delicacies; le potager, the vegetable garden; and le voyage, the flavors of world cuisines. In addition to dinner seven nights, we feature a $37 two-course prix-fixe lunch six days a week, and brunch on Sundays. The restaurant is both a neighborhood gem and a destination for food lovers in search of casually elegant dining. Two private dining rooms seating 18 guest each are available for your private entertaining needs, and may be combined to accommodate 40. The restaurant's adjacent BAR PLEIADES serves inventive cocktails and a luxurious bar menu from 3 pm onwards. DANIEL • DB Bistro Moderne •Boulud Sud• Bar Boulud • DBGB Kitchen & Bar

Super

We had a family dinner and it was "super"! The staff, ambiance and dinner were perfect. I loved my terrine de foie gras and the duck.

DO NOT GO until management straightens out the kitchen and trains front of house staff. 4 of us, two "old timers" were there for dinner last night and had the worst service imaginable.........took 3 hours for a simple dinner. Nobody cared. I have written to Daniel Boulud and am interested to see if I hear from him. Sometimes the guy... More

Cafe Boulud was the restaurant in our hotel (The Surrey) and we went before a show Saturday night. The staff was very welcoming and sensitive to time constraints. The meal was excellent.

Had an excellent dinner at the Cafe Boulud. We were in NY to celebrate our mutual birthdays and chose the Cafe Boulud after reviews on this site. We were not disappointed. The food here was some of the best I have ever tasted and the wait staff were friendly, courteous and helpful when selecting our meals. I had the seasonal... More

I was staying at the Surrey Hotel for a few days and this is the Hotel's very own Michelin starred restaurant. I asked for a table to be made available for dinner with only one hour's notice on a busy night and they obliged. The food and service were second to none. The selection of wine allowed for a good... We were two for lunch and from the moment we stepped in the staff was wonderful - engaging, warm and knowledgeable. Water and coffee always topped off. Table cleaned in between. Not too noisy and comfortably decorated dining room. The prix fixe was well priced and we enjoyed every bite.

We expected a far more special dinner than we received. The spring garden salad was quite inventive and delicious, the duck entree was quite good, the striped bass was somewhat overcooked but pleasant enough, and the "taste of goat" with various vegetables was odd. It was so contrived that it in no way looked or tasted like goat and the... More

I guess there are two ways to look at everything. On one hand, I'm not crazy about the space in which Café Boulud is located. It's not exquisite or grand, befitting of the amazing food and service. On the other hand - the space is comfortable and not intimidating for those who want phenomenal food and service without the trappings.... More

I had french toast on the weekend at this restaurant. It is in one of my favourite hotels "The Surrey". It was one of the best I have had in a long time. Soft and fluffy with a hard crust. Yummy...

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
