Cafe Boulud is quite a lovely experience. The staff is gracious and knowledgeable. The food is first rate and, of course, it is presented very nicely.

I travel a lot and like good food. This time I traveled with a vegetarian and even she was gushing about her plate. Impeccable service, all the staff is attentive and friendly even if we obviously were not the usual customers. I has wanted to try one of his restaurants and am I ever glad I chose this one. The... If you are looking for an elegant and sophiscated place for dinner, Cafe Boulud is your choice! The setting is very elegant and with a touch of Art Deco. The menu is sophisticated with a broad variety of salads, pasta, fish and meat and even few Vietnamese options. The wine list is superb. Try the Penne Nero, which was delicious... More

I had my birthday dinner there with several family members. We've eaten here many times over the years and it continues to be a charming place with excellent food.

We tried brunch today at Cafe Boulud on a whim and were so pleased with the experience. The arugula salad with fennel and peaches was summery and delicious. The smoked salmon was also great with beautifully presented accoutrements. We also loved the eggs Benedict paired with thinly sliced ham and the omelette. The service was superb and attentive. Excellent choice for restaurant week. Menu is limited but so is their regular luncheon menu. Service was excellent - attentive and professional. It is an oasis in New York.

Cafe Boulud, adjacent to the Surrey hotel, offers brilliant food in the best of the French tradition, combined with a brilliant wine list, and great service, managed up to Swiss levels. A great European refuge in New York.

Nothing has changed since our last visit last December. It is as good as always! I found it hard to believe this restaurant could receive a bad review. From the moment th door was opened to us and we were shown to our very well situated table, to the wait staff moving into action, the sommelier offering his assistance, it... More

I come here for lunch every time I have a day out in NYC, and it never fails. Whether it's lunch time or dinner time, the quality of the food and service is top-notch. I'll keep coming back here.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
