Aureole, New York is the flagship showcase for Charlie Palmer's unabashed, energetic signature Progressive American cuisine. Now under the culinary leadership of Executive Chef Marcus Gleadow-Ware, who learned the importance of the classics at London's world-renowned Savoy Hotel, the kitchen turns out elegant, simple dishes with sharply focused flavors like Wagyu Beef Carpaccio with crispy shiitake, scallions, taro root, ponzu and lavash cracker.

Aureole is located within the spectacular Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park, the most environmentally advanced skyscraper in the world. Offering a range of dining options, the Liberty Room is smart and casual with walnut-topped tables and a back-lit, etched glass front bar with polished natural zinc top surface, the intimate Dining Room is designed in both lighting and texture to give off a golden glow, and The Halo Private Dining Room is wrapped with fabric panel and silver leaf walls, dotted with sculptural back-lit flame sconces. Now in its 25th year, Aureole is contemporary urban elegance.

Restaurant Week Treat!

Had a nice lunch at Aureole. The pace was a tad slow for lunchtime. The bartender explained that "everything happens at once." Not sure I need to hear that. Chose the Restaurant Week Pre-fix. Whole-grain bread was a little hard. I wondered if I got yesterday's leftover. Focaccia was... read more

I went here for lunch with my 12 year old daughter between Christmas & New Year. I used to dine at the old Aureole which was located in a brownstone on the Upper East Side. The new modern Midtown location isn't as charming but the food & service remain very good. We both enjoyed a 3 course lunch, no alcohol,... More

Group of 12 had a 5:30 reservation prior to 8:00 showing of Hamilton. Ordered from Pre Fixe menu. Took over 45 minutes to get cocktails (appetizers had already been served). When my cocktail was served I ordered another one right away and the waiter looked at me strangely. I said that since it had taken 45 minutes for the first... More

We went for dinner in between Broadway shows and ordered from the pre theater menu. All the courses were delicious. The waitstaff were courteous. It was a birthday celebration for us as well and Aureole made it so special. We have been to quite a few Michelin star restaurants across the country and Aureole has met, no exceeded, our expectations.... More

This is the First Michelin star restaurant that I have been to. The food was on another level from anything I have ever had before. We had the tasting menu and I would definitely recommend it. The service was fantastic. It was not particularly cheap but for a one off experience it was definitely worth it

Michelin Chef Marcus Ware is creating magnificent dishes from his kitchen. Purees, Pates, Poached Pineapple alongside Soups, Salads, and Sauces burst from the palate like in a culinary dream. Sit down for a meal imagined by Chef Ware and be transported into the rarified air of dining excellence.

We had a pre theatre dinner on the restaurant week menu. My wife and I chose different dishes and were both very happy with our choices. Value was good and we added a bottle of wine at a discounted price. In particular my beef short rib was delicious and so big I couldn't finish it. Service was friendly and efficient... More

The ambiance, set-up and environment are all first rate. We really enjoyed the establishment. The meals are beautifully presented and slightly on the smaller side, but that is to be expected at such an establishment. My main course was the Flat iron steak which was excellent, and the tuna tartare was a good first course.

There were 2 reasons I picked this restaurant. One was the close proximity to the show we were seeing, and I usually would not pick a $$$$ restaurant. Atmosphere, service and food display was what you would expect in this class of restaurant and didn't dissappoint. I definitely preferred the restaurant week menu over their regular menu. Had the Garganelli... More

Had lunch here before my Broadway show. Food was great and price was very reasonable despite its Michelin Star ranking. Do make reservations to avoid any disappointment as it could be very crowded even on a weekday. Ala carte as well as the tasting menu are available. Jackets are optional for men. Wifi is available in the restaurant.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
