Aureole, New York is the flagship showcase for Charlie Palmer's unabashed, energetic signature Progressive American cuisine. Now under the culinary leadership of Executive Chef Marcus Gleadow-Ware, who learned the importance of the classics at London's world-renowned Savoy Hotel, the kitchen turns out elegant, simple dishes with sharply focused flavors like Wagyu Beef Carpaccio with crispy shiitake, scallions, taro root, ponzu and lavash cracker. Aureole is located within the spectacular Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park, the most environmentally advanced skyscraper in the world. Offering a range of dining options, the Liberty Room is smart and casual with walnut-topped tables and a back-lit, etched glass front bar with polished natural zinc top surface, the intimate Dining Room is designed in both lighting and texture to give off a golden glow, and The Halo Private Dining Room is wrapped with fabric panel and silver leaf walls, dotted with sculptural back-lit flame sconces. Now in its 25th year, Aureole is contemporary urban elegance.

From the extraordinary crab appetizer to the chocolate desert ,we were in food heaven. Ismail ,as captain of our , steered us to great choices in The Dining room. An elegant setting and still one of the best meals in NYC.

Spectacular service and food. I happen to just stay at Chef Palmer's Harvest In in Napa which was excellent, I was doubly thrilled to find he not only had a restaurant in my hotel but that this one was literally across the street. By chance we were in NY during restaurant week so we took a relative to try it... More

Now with 7 p.m. curtains I was looking for a restaurant for after the theatre. Our hotel made our reservation for us. We were there on time but the entire time we felt we were being rushed with our meal rather than having a relaxed enjoyable meal. The food was OK but nothing like I would expect from a Michelin... Called and were able to get a reservation to be seated in 15 min. We arrived and were seated by the window which was a bonus and great experience. We split a starter of cavatappi which was fantastic. This was also with a bread basket with a nice choice of three different breads. The attention by staff was good but... More

Went duringRestaurantWeek lunch on a whim. I was so satisfied. Very fresh gazpacho, good trout on white bean bed, excellent panna cotta. For $25!

Dining Room: I had dinner here with two friends from Australia on a Thursday evening. I have not been to Aureole since they moved to this location from E. 61st Street and was not sure what to expect after all these years. They did not disappoint. The food and the service was outstanding and what I'd expect from a Michelin... More

I absolutely loved this restaurant. My mom and I were on a schedule to get to the theatre. We got the recommendation from our hotel staff and made a last minute Open Table reservation. They have a great pre fixe menu for taking or you can order a la carte. The food was amazing. My mom and I have traveled... More

We were in a bit of a rush. The staff worked hard to have us enjoy our meals and get out in time. Everything was very good. The crab salad appetizer was innovative and tasty. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The salmon was done well too. The desserts were all delicious. We are eager to try this restaurant again... More

Seems hard to find a different choice around the Theater District, but this should be on your short list. Happened to be there for Restaurant Week and had an amazing 3 course, generously portioned lunch for $25. Inventive menu, but still something for everyone. Service was attentive and atmosphere lovely

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
