We come here often when visiting NYC, and are never disappointed. The welcome and service are crisp and friendly. The staff keep a watchful eye on the table to make sure that everything goes smoothly. The lunch menu is on target - not too extensive or fussy - a half dozen starters and main courses covering most of the bases:... More

My husband and I recently visited NYC, and had not one but two dinners during our visit. My husband was excited to take me there, as he had dined there on a previous business trip. We had the 5-course tasting menu on the first night and loved it so much we had the Chef's 7-course tasting menu the next night!... More

We had the most amazing meal at Aureole for lunch. We started with pasta with crème sauce with a raw egg on top. After it was mixed into the pasta, the egg cooked. We had a salad, dessert, and coffee. We loved it.

Dring a recent visit to NY with my Sister-in-law who was visiting for the first time she had pre-boked the Aureole after lots of research and reading reviews on Restaurants close to Times Sq where we were staying. She had booked the a la carte section to the rear behind the glass wall. I must say we were not dissappointed. The... More

On our last trip to NYC, my wife wanted to try out the Aureole, 136 West 42nd. Street. I wasn't too enthusiastic thinking it was just another hyped up NY location. How wrong I was. Once again, my wife's judgment was spot on. Excellent food, very good sophisticated service, good ambience and very obviously not a tourist rip off. New... More

We ate at Aureole early (5:45 pm) and chose from the pre-theater pre fixe menu. The waitstaff at the Aureole were very attentive and helpful. However, the food was very average. Its location was convenient (Times Square) for going to a show. This was my first time at Aureole and while the experience was satisfactory it was not special enough... More

I hadn't been to Aureole since it moved to it's new location. 42nd St. isn't often top on my list of locations for a great meal. A colleague suggested we have dinner there this week and it was a treat. There are two experiences to be had there: the a la carte busy front room that is casual and lively,... More

A wonderful restaurant for a special occasion. From the moment you are greeted by the friendly, knowledgeable staff until you reluctantly depart, you know you are engaged in a memorable experience. Exceptional preparations of fois gras, tuna sashimi , wagyu rib eye, sea bass, Alaskan black cod....and then the outstanding dessert

We normally choose less expensive restaurants before a theater performance, but it was NYC restaurant week, so it was a great opportunity to enjoy a high-quality 3-course dinner at Aureole for only $38. We were lucky to be seated in the elegant back room where it was quiet and tables were nicely spaced. In passing by the front room (where... More

Lives up to the hype, no problem. Ate in the library room. 3 course prix fixe only $55 pre-theater and they serve healthy portions. Not at all noisy and had very attentive service. All the food was interesting and outstanding. Steak and free-range chicken seems likes nothing special but it brought out the oohs and ahs. Finished with 7-layer chocolate... More
