Aureole, New York is the flagship showcase for Charlie Palmer's unabashed, energetic signature Progressive American cuisine. Now under the culinary leadership of Executive Chef Marcus Gleadow-Ware, who learned the importance of the classics at London's world-renowned Savoy Hotel, the kitchen turns out elegant, simple dishes with sharply focused flavors like Wagyu Beef Carpaccio with crispy shiitake, scallions, taro root, ponzu and lavash cracker. Aureole is located within the spectacular Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park, the most environmentally advanced skyscraper in the world. Offering a range of dining options, the Liberty Room is smart and casual with walnut-topped tables and a back-lit, etched glass front bar with polished natural zinc top surface, the intimate Dining Room is designed in both lighting and texture to give off a golden glow, and The Halo Private Dining Room is wrapped with fabric panel and silver leaf walls, dotted with sculptural back-lit flame sconces. Now in its 25th year, Aureole is contemporary urban elegance.

The food was excellently prepared. Lots of seafood dishes on the fixed price menu, it seems. $96 for 3 courses, not bad for a michelin-starred restaurant. Plating and execution were all excellent. Fish was cooked just right. Pork chop was tender and juicy. Dessert was well thought--out. Can't think of anything to complain about the food at all. Service was... More

Aureole used to be on the upper east side in a charming and romantic setting. It is now on west 42 street. It is modern and styless ,glitzy and touristy and has lost all its charm. The food and service is good. Portions are large. The warm chocolate ganache is very good. But I would not rush back to visit... More

We visited during restaurant week and chose the 3 course set menu. The hostess was asked by the front desk to show us to our table. She wandered off without us while we checked in our coats, came back after a few minutes and asked us if we needed any help! Not a good start! We waited at our table... More

We went before a show and was nice since it was close to the theater but that was the end of the. We ordered the 3 course price fixe. The shrimp in my pasta tasted fishy like something I could buy from the frozen section in the supermarket. My salmon was raw in the middle which I think was the... More

This is a credit to Charlie Parker and has been a wonderful place for quite a while. The effort that is put into this by the staff shows in food, the atmosphere and the service. It is a pleasure eating here and I look forward to returning in the near future. Their preparation of fish was delicate and delicious and... More

You will not regret this tremendous experience. Charlie Palmer excellence. Well prepared and impeccably presented. Staff was excellent. Seated at 5 pm, easily walked to our show at 8 pm. at the Booth. Bubbly and wines were VERY well priced.

We booked our reservation through our hotel and the food was exquisite. The service was excellent. We had the tasting menu which was amazing, the presentation and execution of all the dishes was gorgeous. The staff were very attentive and the service was second to none. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would definitely return, not really the place... More

We came to NYC for a show and dinner. We were lucky to come across this Michelin rated (one star) restaurant close to Times Square. We were able to eat in the main dining room without a reservation, so walk-ins sometimes catch a break to eat at such a quality place. The food was superb. Each course's presentation was exquisite.... More

Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
