Description: Persepolis Is a Persian/ Mediterranean restaurant with a dynamic atmosphere and 20 years of experience! We are located in the Upper East Side on 2nd Avenue & 73rd Street. Our chef San Sethachutkul’s goal is to serve the finest Persian Feast and the best ingredients available from local markets & Persian imports. We prepare a simple yet creative menu that highlights those ingredients. The restaurant is famous for verity of kebabs and refreshing salads and gently spiced grilled meats. The yogurt and cucumber blended with a little mint is made exceedingly well and is an ideal cool compliment to Persepolis’ rounds of Pita & Barbari bread. Our kebabs which include moist and delicious salmon or saffron chicken are served without heavy sauces. Instead they are served with a choice of four rices including an intriguing blend of Basmati rice and marinated sour cherries. Our personalized wine list truly compliments our cuisine. We also offer a full classic bar. We look forward to seeing you!

On a gorgeous Sunday afternoon we decided to stroll through Manhattan and wanted to spend a little time at the Frick Museum but wanted to have a nice lunch beforehand. This restaurant seemed to fit the bill. We were delighted to find they have a two course prix fixe with wonderful options for $17.00, and were even more delighted with... More

Second Avenue is a mess right now because of the subway construction, but this small, sidewalk restaurant is worth the visit. Nice setting; great service. My Persian friend in California says this is the best Persian restaurant in NY. The eggplant dishes are great, the orange scented rice is something special.

When we are in New York city we eat here as often as we can. Just a few steps fro our apartment. Wonderful food, and good service. Whenever you are in New York City, be sure and find your way here.

I have had Persian food a few times and this was outstanding. I had a chicken stew made with shredded chicken and pomegranates. It was thick and rich and particularly enjoyable with the ORANGE scented rice. My husband had a filet mignon kebab that was cooked perfectly and went well with the same rice. the eggplant mezze was quite delicious.... More

Persepolis is a lovely local restaurant. The food is fine. The assorted rices are terrific. Even the wine list has a few interesting entries too.

I ordered the Caspian, which I mistakenly thought was saffron chicken and chicken kubideh (ground chicken kabob). When my plate arrived with something that looked like chicken and something that looked like beef, I asked my waiter what it was. After he explained that I ordered saffron chicken and beef (ground aged sirloin) kebob, I realized it was my mistake,... More

One of the best Persian food I had in a long time. Good selection to choice from beef, lamb and chicken - appetizers had the right amount of portions and food quality was very good. We ordered three different dishes from the land and they were just fantastic the meats were cooked at the right temperature with right amount of... More

Our table of 4 started out with the appetizer sampler and the oohs and ahhs said it all. On to lamb and chicken kebabs all with the cherry rice which is as good as everyone says it is. Generous portions and excellent service. We will be back.
