Description: Persepolis Is a Persian/ Mediterranean restaurant with a dynamic atmosphere and 20 years of experience! We are located in the Upper East Side on 2nd Avenue & 73rd Street. Our chef San Sethachutkul’s goal is to serve the finest Persian Feast and the best ingredients available from local markets & Persian imports. We prepare a simple yet creative menu that highlights those ingredients. The restaurant is famous for verity of kebabs and refreshing salads and gently spiced grilled meats. The yogurt and cucumber blended with a little mint is made exceedingly well and is an ideal cool compliment to Persepolis’ rounds of Pita & Barbari bread. Our kebabs which include moist and delicious salmon or saffron chicken are served without heavy sauces. Instead they are served with a choice of four rices including an intriguing blend of Basmati rice and marinated sour cherries. Our personalized wine list truly compliments our cuisine. We also offer a full classic bar. We look forward to seeing you!

We frequent NYC twice a year and visit this restaurant whenever we can. Food is excellent, varied and reasonably priced. Try the different rices!

My cousin and I visited this place on our last night in town and wanted to pay tribute to our background. All I can say is we were surprised, everything was great! The best Iranian cuisine at any restaurant!

Staying with my half-Iranian friend in New York, he brought me here as it's "[his] favourite Iranian restaurant", and I wasn't disappointed. The lamb was absolutely delicious and the staff and the atmosphere were good too. Would definitely recommend if you are in the Upper East Side.

I have never been in a Persian Restaurant and yes, I have been in many lebanese restaurants around the World. The restaurant is in 2nd Avenue which is not a nice location however the restaurant is well put. Service is attentive with the owner on top of it. The wine list is short but comprehensive. I ordered a half botle... More

Persepolis is one of the only authentic Persian restaurants in NYC. They menu offers every important Persian dish including kebab and the stews. The appetizers are delicious too. They offer various vegetarian options and a great fish kebab. Don't forget to order "tahdig" as a side, the famous bottom of the pot, crusty Persisn Rice.

Based on Trip Advisor reviews we made a reservation. We had a delightful experience, trying appetizers of three kinds of yogurt and three kinds of salads. All were fresh and different tasting. Our entrees included vegetable stew, lemon chicken, saffron chicken and lamb combination. All were excellent and we would happily order them again. We tried three of the different... More

While better than other Persian restaurants that we have been to in NYC, don't expect to find the flavors of true Persian food. The menu has traditional Persian meals, but the flavor is not there. The white rice is excellent, however the traditional chicken kabob did not have much flavor at all. Drinks are fine, Service was great - just... More

Impeccable service and a wide variety of Persian food is offered either as in restaurant or take out dining. The tasty rice combination offered are some of the best in the city. Desserts can be a treat as well. This is Persian food at it's best and not too expensive.

...to dine at this warm and friendly Persian restaurant with very attentive and friendly servers and a variety of menu selections that never disappoints. The vodka martini was excellent and the reasonably priced Malbec we selected also excellent. The eight different items on their appetizer sampler were exceptionally good along with a standard pita bread and their own warm pita-like... More

On a gorgeous Sunday afternoon we decided to stroll through Manhattan and wanted to spend a little time at the Frick Museum but wanted to have a nice lunch beforehand. This restaurant seemed to fit the bill. We were delighted to find they have a two course prix fixe with wonderful options for $17.00, and were even more delighted with... More
