Casual neighborhood cafe, part of a chef-owned group, e.g. Cafe d'Alsace on 2nd Ave. Well-spaced seating, booths, good light from big windows. Food is authentic, menu fits big or small appetites, desserts look tasty. Reliable, located near Museum of Natural History.

My wife and I were staying at the Lucerne, which is a great hotel we have stayed at several times and love it. One morning we decided to have brunch at Nice- Matin which is in the hotel but apparently not run by the hotel. My wife decided to order a waffle, but before ordering asked are if they are... More

The food here is really excellent. In addition the portions are large and the prices quite reasonable. We had the mussels, lamb (some of the best I've had), and kale salad to start.

We ate an early dinner here on a Saturday night because it was within walking distance of our Hotel Beacon and I saw the photo on Tripadvisor of a favorite dish - mussels. We had a quiet table for two by the window and an excellent server. My husband ordered the Prix-Fixe three course dinner ($38) and chose the goat... More

This is a neighborhood favorite of ours. The food is ALWAYS good; their regular menu items are reliably consistent and their specials worth trying. One of my favorite standbys is the short rib raviol and they do fish VERY well.

Arrived around 1:30pm on Saturday, sat down straight away (4 ppl) no need to book, but we could have just got lucky so book if you can. Had some amazing bloody merries. Food menu was predictable, safe, French, not too exciting - we had a couple of burgers and a couple of croque monsieurs. All very tasty. Service was not... More

Nice Matin is bustling from morning until night. We never stopped there because it was adjacent to our hotel and we wanted to explore other restaurants. We are only sorry we didn't try it sooner. Excellent food and service. Charming European feel.

I had dinner recently with a party of eight. We had terrific service. Requested a round table and got one. The menu is interesting and well thought out. Espresso martinis are the best I have had. I had duck meatloaf.....to die for. This restaurant never disappoints! It's one of my go to places in NYC

My daughter and I were staying down the street and happened on this amazing find for breakfast! We were promptly seated at a great table - and quickly received our coffee and hot tea. We were so excited to see new and exciting menu choices! My daughter had an amazing Egg White Frittata and I had a delightful Asparagus and... More

Hotel restaurants generally get a bad rap, and I'm guilty of having given a few of them less than stellar reviews before. There is so much good to say about Nice Matin (located inside The Lucerne Hotel), however, that I'm going to start with the one negative thing I encountered; entry from the hotel proper. The door from the lobby... More
