Cute little NY Cafe

We ate here three times in 5 days. It's a little expensive and the food is average, but the location is perfect and the staff are very friendly. My two children, ages 10 and 11, loved it.

Not cordon bleu but very good wholesome fare at reasonable prices. I especially enjoyed the pancakes at breakfast time but the burger in the evening was good also. The best bit of the whole experience however was the excellent, friendly staff.

I was looking for a dinner option that was not as upscale as most Upper West Side restaurants, but tasty, of course. I found that at Cafe Viand. It has a “mom and pop”/hometown cafe feel on a busy city corner. I ordered a basic hamburger deluxe, and it was perfect -- done as I requested, crispy fries -- and... More

Popped in for a late lunch before we headed to the airport. Service was quick and friendly. Kiddo had the grilled chicken club, which she enjoyed. I had a turkey wrap and was pleasantly surprised it was actual roasted turkey and not deli meat. Husband enjoyed the veggie frittata.

This is reasonable priced. like home cooking. Portions are huge. Service is great. Atmosphere is comfortable and clean. Hardworking staff makes it a great choice. Located next to the Becon theatre, which was great for a meal before the show

A very roomy restaurant in the heart of New York, right next door to the Beacon Hotel, there are cosy little booths that enhance the dining experience allowing some privacy. The wait staff were efficient and polite, and quite chatty. Nonetheless the service was quick and unrushed. The dinner was good value and well presented, altogether a comfortable and relaxing... Great place for breakfast. We have been there three days in a row and will go again tomorrowVery friendly and efficient staff. The only downside was when the owner was in this morning and had the staff on edge. He was hovering around and barking orders to all and sundry. Best advice to the owner is to stay away. The... Staying at the Hotel Beacon this Cafe is just brilliant for us as it is literally next door. It opens at 6.30am for breakfast which enabled us to eat and then go off for the day nice and early. It calls itself a Cafe but is really more a restaurant to us with such a fantastic menu choice for breakfast,... More
