Delicious breakfast

Crispy bacon, eggs cooked just as requested, fruit instead of potatoes -sure, no problem!-what's not to love? Very pleasant waitstaff, also.

I always dine here when visiting NYC Upper West Side. It is a simple "Old-School" diner with good food. The wait staff isn't always friendly but it's not a 5-Star restaurant either. Go here seeking good "comfort" food in a great neighborhood and your won't be disappointed. If you get lucky to get a friendly waitress all the better.

I don't understand how people with no sense if hospitality can go into this business. we went there for a quick coffee, since the place is called "cafe", and all we got was bad looks from the staff in a crammed up side table. Before I had the last sip of my coffee the check was put on the table,... More

We were in New York on a family trip and decided to nip over to Times Square (which we usually avoid at night). Ever since they made the streets into a mall, it's been more insane than ever - almost a mob scene or an updated version of the Times Square of the 70s and 80s (not good). So we... More

Had two meals here and they were just OK. Breakfast was below average with cold toast and under cooked bacon. Cute place, good service, I wish the food was better.

Prices are average of the area. Food was warm not hot when I got it but it was a very well prepared and bountiful plate.

Called in for snack, and found staff very friendly, water brought straight away. Had two sandwich meals with fries and two beers. Came to about £30, seems a bit pricey, but it's New York, and the portion sizes were very good, didn't need a pudding. Clean and tidy, no issues at all.

Simple dinner on arrival in New York - first night. Very busy but service immediately and meals came out very quickly. Tasty, simple food but an extensive menu for breakfast lunch and dinner. Didn't feel like drinking alcohol after a very long flight so didnt look at wine lists etc. Reliable eatery.

Often packed, this is the ideal place for eggs, salads, sandwiches. Food is fresh. Service is great, but seating can be too tight (trying juggling coffee, water, two plates, toast plate, silverware on a table for 2 -- not possible). And there's no room for coats. These are just things to keep in mind when you're being seated -- try... More

Cafe Viand serves up delicious, large and reasonably priced breakfasts (Lunch and Dinner too). Table service is always prompt and courteous. When were in the City we're regular customers and will continue to be!
