Great place, mediocre food

Went on the recommendation of our hotel concierge to hear some jazz in the Upper West Side. The Jon Weiss Trio was terrific, as was the later open mic session, the atmosphere and environment. Only mistake we made was to have dinner, instead of just having drinks at the bar as most did. There... read more

I went here twice; once with my family for some drinks and once for a friends surprise party. It was great both times. The food is delicious. The waitresses/ waiters are super friendly. And I have to say the best is the live jazz. I love this place.

Take the corner table if you can. The Jazz evening is a great touch adding lovely ambiance. Food is ok though the appetizers are excellent.

It's such a wonderful place for those who love jazz. There are great musicians, friendly stuff and pleasant atmosphere. We spent four evenings there and had only regrets that we didn't know about this very place earlier.

Not only is the food delicious but they have great live music here. I always hear a favorite song that I haven't live heard in years. I especially enjoy the open mic nights. The service is friendly and efficient and they have a killer happy hour!

Cleopatra's Needle is a nice little club with live music and good food. My husband and I came to visit in May when the weather was very pleasant and we were pleased to get a table by the front window. We enjoyed being able to see outside. The night we were there, a combo played while various singers sang. We... More

I arrived at the restaurant with Hubby and my beautiful daughter and her Beau in tow. I suddenly recognized a stylish Cole Porter ditty in he background. Sipped on my cocktail and got lost in the moment. The ambience took me back in time...the delicious seafood combined with great service left a memorable occasion emblazoned in my heart. The jazz... This is relaxed neighborhoody spot to enjoy a decent meal and some nice jazz. Nothing fancy here. If it was spectacular jazz, I'm not sure if know the difference, so it was just right for me. We split the chicken kabob and the eggplant salad. The portions weren't huge, but after overindulging all day, they were just right. I imagine... More

Food was tasty although not adventurous or a standout, service was efficient, and prices quite reasonable in context of UWS Manhattan. This is not a destination restaurant, but a nice place if you're in the neighborhood and want some good, honest food without a lot of "scene" b.s.

The first time I came here was to kill time before meeting friends for dinner nearby and to try their happy hour. I was really happy with what I found inside. The happy hour (until 7pm) is pretty good they make a great Dirty Martini and the wine selection is OK. I found out whole I was there that they... More
