In a city with some of the best service on earth, Lalo relies entirely on its' menu & reputation. The service is abysmal - trying to flag a waitress to get seated, to order or to pay should be an Olympic sport. The lady on the counter for take out today looked mortally offended by my request for a cake... More

This place was recommended to us so we went along for breakfast. The food we ordered from a vast menu which SOUNDED great was slowish to arrive and two of us had items missed off our orders which had to be brought later. I had a fruit salad which was very ordinary, and none of us raved about the food... More

REALLY good European menu, decently priced, in the upper west side amidst a typical NY neighborhood lined with brownstones. The only downside to this place was the pretentiousness that steamed off of a couple of gals who work here, as well as some of the patrons. It was oddly amusing though, and if the menu wasn't so huge, and food... More

Love the atmosphere and they have some amazing capuchinos!! Would come again, but they need to NOT display there pastries that look FRESH, there were few that looked like they were a week old. Not a good look for the business but otherwise i enoyed myself.

Friendly staff. Yummy cheesecake. We were there on a Friday afternoon- it wasn't very busy, we were seated right away.

There are many kind of foods. Desserts are wonderful. Too crowded, you have to wait for the table. Beautiful atmosphere

But far more common place in Europe. Much smaller than the photos suggest we visited by chance on a cold Tuesday afternoon and tried some coffee and cake. Fine, not exceptional and not having seen a certain movie was certainly not starstruck. If we hadn't read the fawning reviews on TA would have considered it just another neighbourhood cafe. Perhaps... More

Nice atmosphere and cool decor, a bit squashed together but generally a good experience. We ordered the house salad and was excellent. Coffee quite tasty and roast potatoes okay. Service was good but it would be great for once, for staff to say goodbye when you leave. These added touches go a long way. Good prices and recommended.

We breezed in for brunch and enjoyed great food - the waffles are to die for. Apparently it features in the film 'You've Got Mail'. Nice arty atmosphere too !

The number of choices for a lovely dessert can make you dizzy!Had the triple delight mousse and was the best at my table! Others were rocky road and pumpkin cheesecake which were ok.Heard they have a great breakfast as well!
