The pie is great, but the chocolate covered canoli was insane (in a good way). The coffee was just ok but you come here for the desserts.

I had a piece of the chocolate peanut butter pie. It was the best pie I have ever had. It was the perfect balance of sweetness, savory, light and rich. It was the product of a master. I don't think you can beat it anywhere. They have a huge selection of equally delicious looking items, but I can't vouch for... More

we stumbled upon Cafe Lalo one evening after dinner while hanging on the Upper West Side. Cafe Lalo is located off the main drag of Amsterdam Avenue. The cafe was buzzing with activity well into the evening and didn't seem like it was going to die down anytime soon. We ordered coffee at first which was very, very good. We... More

This restaurant is tucked away in a tree lined street on 83rd st and Broadway and I had heard so much about the place that it was a must visit for me. It's a beautiful cafe with a great ambience and the desserts are to kill for!!! We ordered a mozzarella and pesto tomato sandwich which was amazingly delicious. The... More

Have been coming here since college. Every time we travel to NYC. Featured in "You've got mail" Great vibe, extensive menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night. Everything from omelets to cheese cake.

Great cakes and other yummy sweet beautiful desserts. Must try. The singers and music are great as well. Try the lavender cheesecake. It's off of Central Park West so forget about parking.

As luck would have it we stayed at an apartment in the same building as Cafe Lalu (201 W 83rd St). The cafe apart from being in the film, You have mail is renown for its desserts. The coffee is excellent which is really saying something for USA coffee but the cakes - oh the cakes. Where do I begin?... More

When I think of a cafe, I do not expect it to be as loud as a bar during a sports event. This place was excessively loud making it hard to enjoy conversation with friends. The loud music just made everyone talk louder which just added to the noise of the place. I chose not to order anything as i... More

Cafe Lalo is best know for its deserts, which are very good especially the Red Velvet cake. But it also has a full range of meal options including salads which are also good. The Cafe gets busy on weekends during brunch, and the tables are close, but most of the time this is not an issue. If you are having... More

Our favorite café from a certain old movie. So many treats to try almost makes you want to live in NYC on the upper west side in one of those brownstones.
