My wife and I were attending a show on West 71st Street, so we made a night of it. I just Google mapped the area and chose Cafe Luxembourg for it's proximity to our destination. We thoroughly enjoyed the decision. It is a small venue, sort of 1930s deco style, and the tables are pretty packed, so if you are... More

Been coming here for years. Amazing service, family friendly (but still intimate), large groups well accommodated, and the BEST burgers and omelets, what more could you want? PS: I have literally had some days where I ate all three meals at Luxembourg. It is that good.

I come here for dinner when I'm traveling by myself because I can get a seat at the bar no problem. This place is just great French food, nothing extravagant or elaborately prepared, just simple, consistent and delicious. Last time I ate here I had an omelet and the fries (for dinner), sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed my... More

What a great combination - very good food, good wine, lovely ambience and even better service. My only regret is that we couldn't linger since we were off to the Lincoln Centre. The next time we are in NYC we'll plan a leisurely evening at Cafe Luxembourg.

So glad you we were able to help you start your evening off on the right foot, Peter. We're thrilled that you enjoyed a nice meal before your show at the Lincoln Center, and it's great that our ambiance and service was spot on for you. Please stop in for a 'leisurely evening' next time you're visiting The Big Apple!... More

This is our neighborhood restaurant and the food is so delicious. It is a very comfy atmosphere where the staff is mostly actors and artists. The hamburger is by far is the best in town with the crispy fries. I always seem to order the roasted chicken, sounds boring but far from that. Marta the hostess, Kyle and everyone are... More

Resting on your laurels versus consistently raising your game. Sadly the former is where Cafe Lux has ended up. As close to an Upper West Side institution as we have, they just seem lazy today.

Our staff works hard to bring that certain je ne sais quoi to every table, so it is disappointing to hear you feel that we are not living up to our reputation. We strive to do our best and are constantly looking for ways to improve to guarantee the best possible meal for each and every one of our patrons.... More

Cafe Luxemburg in NYC is another of those fabulous iconic dining experiences. Situated at 200 W 70th in the upper west side, in the Broadway area, it is usually packed, and is open for breakfast (or brunch) lunch, and dinner, 7 days a week. Bookings are absolutely essential. This is an art deco affair (the postcards provided with the bill... More

I have been here for dinner each of the two last times I came to New York City. I enjoyed my meal each time. The service was attentive, the food tasted very good (I really loved the roasted chicken I had this time), they don't hurry you and their desserts are quite good.

Almost every time we visit NYC, we go here because it is close to the hotel we usually stay at (Milburn on 76th). I prefer the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. Coffee is really good as are their muffins. Getting there early is better. It certainly isn't cheap but the food is excellent.
