This is a cozy and intimate space serving classic bistro fare near Lincoln Center. Attentive service. Had steak frites, lobster roll and roast chicken with an excellent Cote du Rhone, followed by crime brûlée and lemon tart. All superb. Will return.

This is a good restaurant, but not a great restaurant. I live close by and so a few times a year I will dine here. It is always very crowded and the tables are very close together. The food is decent and the classics like the steak, the fish, and the famed french fries are always good. If you want... More

From the moment you enter Cafe Luxembourg, you half expect everyone to be speaking French. That is how authentically Parisienne the atmosphere and the aromas are! The menu does not, hhowever adhere strickly to the old school bistro fare. There is no pate en croute or onion soup. But there are some familiar favorites like duck liver mousse and frisee salad.... "That is how authentically Parisienne the atmosphere and the aromas are" -- those opening lines really drove home some big smiles for us, Altina. Thank you for reviewing everything from our atmosphere to our service, and of course, our food. We truly appreciated the detail of your recommendation and hope to have you back again soon. A wonderful neighborhood place with very good french food. We arrived at exactly our reservation time, and the table for 5 was waiting and set. No "check in, but the people ahead of you haven't paid their bill yet" which we find so often, particularly if we're eating later than the first "seating." Great "country French fare.

This restaurant is a classic brasserie style establishment with classic dishes for breakfast such as Eggs Benedict. I had Eggs Florentine which were done to perfection. The ambience is relaxed with decor reminiscent of a brasserie in Paris.

I had not been to the Café Luxemburg since the 1980s and my memories of the restaurant then was good, nice atmosphere and late night spot. Nothing has change in the intervening 30 years. The bistro type dishes are still good. The service still good and though there seems to be less space than they had 30 years ago and... More

Ambiance is very nice and sets the tone for this nice restaurant in the 70s on the West Side. Noise level is fine, allowing conversation across the table. Service is exceptional and the food is great. Grilled octopus is a must, as is the hangar steak. Tasty deserts too.
