I love this a secret cubbyhole in NYC on 86th street The popover is light hollow muffin made of a puff batter (individual Yorkshire pudding) baked in a deep muffin cup. They served us fresh baked it (crunchy crispy and puffy) with also their original strawberry butter. That combo was amazing! So my recommendation is to order one or two... More

I went here for lunch to catch up with a friend from long ago. The atmosphere was fine for spending a few hours talking, in addition to having lunch. The menu is extensive and everything seems to be made carefully. Great brunch items as well as sandwiches.

Heard about it but just never got there. Went for brunch with wife and friend. GREAT. The popovers were done perfectly. Well, after 32 years making them you would think they would get it right and they did. And everything else was also perfect. BUT HURRY. Because the sad part is they are closing January 5, 2014. Lost their lease.... More

I love Popovers Cafe and go there whenever I am on the Upper West Side. It is really all about the popovers, served with strawberry butter, but the food is good too. Over the recent years, they have cut back their entree menu, but have great salads, burgers and egg dishes. Really enjoyed the Special Scrambled - Nove salmon, cream... More

I came to this restaurant with a group of friends in search of good food and a nice place to relax and catch up. We were all having a good time when the manager came and in a very rude manner told us to lower our voice because she couldn't hear her conversation on the phone. Her tone was angry... More

I mainly go for the popovers, but they use good ingredients in their entrees as well. It's a good place for brunch, and I enjoy their omelettes and sandwiches.

We had the best popovers in a cute cafe with cozy 1940s character. They are so light and airy served with delicious strawberry butter. We were a party of four and our entrees, three of them different, were all great! The variety is delightful!

A good neighborhood standby, with slightly above average food. The popovers are very yummy but they actually can't get apple butter anymore?
