I try to go to NYC 2-3 times a year and whenever I go, I try to have new food experience. This time around, I tried Butter n Empire Dinner (yes, I'm a Food Network fan ;) Went to the Midtown location for brunch and the food was good although pricey (which was to be expected). I had a plate... More

I visited this restaurant for brunch with friends for Sunday brunch. The food was excellent, however service was unattentive and uninspiring. Numerous calls had to be made for water requests, server Rebecca would regularly leave us in the dark and not ask if anything was needed to a point where we had to raise our hands and seek attention from... I enjoyed my meal & my wine, but it was hyped so much that I left a bit disappointed. It's trendy & got a seen & be seen attitude. But it was fun for a trip to NYC.

I was concerned when I walked up to Alex Guarnaschelli's restaurant and saw that it had a grade B rating from the health department, but we decided to risk it. The menu was limited and rather expensive, and I am not that adventurous when spending that kind of money on something I may not like, so I got the chicken,... More

We dined at butter in August 2013. Love the food network and thought it would be fun. Portions definitely were not what we expected and the food seemed very pretentious. Everything was 'extra'. Wouldn't bother next time in New York.

Definitely had one of the best meals EVER. Everything was PERFECT. From decor to wait-staff to my drink to the food. Can't say enough positive things about Butter. This restaurant is owned by Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli. I spoke with our server about her training and she told me that they put in 2 full weeks of intensive training complete with... More

Decided to take advantage of Restaurant week and take in Chef Alex's, Butter. The restaurant is located in the lower part of the Cassa Hotel and you look up to see natural light and a garden setting for the restaurant. The Restaurant is done in darker wood tones with some nice soft lighting that conflicts with higher halogen spots. The... More

Wife and I had lunch here. We had the butter burger with fries. I had a house salad with Apple Cider Vinegarette. The butter burger was very good. We ordered it medium but it came out medium well. The fries were crispy and not greasy. The salad was very good. Service by our waiter Jeremiah was excellent. The restaurant is... More

I love Alex G, but this restaurant left me wanting more. The service was definitely not up to par, and the meal was just okay (especially for the cost). I did love the atmosphere inside as well as being able to spot Alex while I was eating.
