Very good but not the quality I expected. LOVED the atmosphere.

Possibly the best ambience and design I've ever seen in a restaurant. The steak was very good - though not great - and perfectly cooked. The hand cut fries that came with it were so soggy we didn't eat them after the first bite. The bread was super delicious. Service was impeccable. The... read more

We visited Butter for brunch the morning after the great blizzard of 2016. That may be the only reason we got in. They cautioned that they were not fully staffed due to the weather, and please be patient. They need not say that because service was awesome. If this was slower than normal, would love to see normal service. We... More

Went there yesterday for brunch. Upon entering had to ask the hostess if there was a coat check. Sat down, ordered drinks and then brunch. From the time we ordered until we were served the food it was one hour. We had to ask the waiter where our food was. While waiting for our food he cleared the drink glasses... More

Award winning chef from "Chopped" , Alex, has hit the bulls eye with this fantastic NYC restaurant!! Very large and roomy bar lounge and restaurant with booths to accommodate all sizes of parties. The appetizers, salads and entrees were all superb. Wait staff attentive and prompt.

We recently visited NYC to see a few shows and dine in "Chopped" chefs' restaurants. Butter was our third stop after having excellent service and culinary experiences at Ditch Plains (Marc Murphy) and Red Rooster (Marcus Samuelsson). Butter was previewing their Restaurant Week menu, so we ordered from it. The positives: wild mushroom soup, pork shank, butterscotch pudding, and chocolate... More

Perhaps our expectations were too high, but Christmas Eve dinner at Butter was disappointing. The dining room was beautiful, but it was like any other night - one would think if they could do a special menu for the evening that they might have also dressed the dining area up a bit. Our waitress wasn't particularly knowledgeable about the menu... More

Met another couple for dinner here a few nights after having dinner at The Lambs Club. So... expectations were high. Our meal was solid albeit I think overpriced for the quality of the food and the setting. One of the best things of our meal was the mexican cinnamon ice cream. Delicious! Anyway, not sure if I would go back... More

Visited this place with a friend for dinner. Cocktails were really good and there is a great wine list. The vegetarian options are limited but what we had was nice. The service is fabulous and it's got a nice, relaxed atmosphere. I'd heard a lot about this place and had high expectations. Whilst it didn't dissapoint, I don't think it... More
