I was expecting more...

My wife is a good cook and watches all those cooking shows and has seen Alex many times, so that is why we went. Don't get me wrong, the place is nice and maybe I am hard to impress (my wife and I eat out a lot). The decor was nice but not at the wow factor. Food was good,... read more

Went for prix fixe menu during restaurant week, and it was outstanding. High quality food with delicious combinations of flavors and textures. Only disappointments were: the vegetarian entree was delicious but very meager. It was a 2 inch by 4 inch slice of cauliflower on a bed of sauce. Again, delicious, but who feels satisfied with a salad appetizer, a... More

This was the perfect start to a wonderful evening and NYC visit! We actually made our reservation on-line that morning (upon the recommendation of a friend) while in the Charlotte airport. It was an easy meeting spot with our daughter who is in the City for a summer internship. There were five of us and we were able to visit... More

Butter's midtown location is beautiful, the decor upscale casual and comfortable. The cocktails imaginative, the menu limited but delicious sounding. Veal bacon was fabulous. The beef entrees were disappointing. The quality of the beef was sub par, the presentation average. The fish was delicious, lacked flair of presentation, but delicious. For all the hype, we were underwhelmed.

I loved my time at Butter! The watermelon cocktail was to die for along with everything I ate. Most fondly remember the delicious rolls and two types of butter! Also loved the donuts for dessert! Can't wait to go back! XOXO

Went over 4th July holiday. Not many things to choose from 7 or so main dishes, a la cart. Nothing extordinary at all.

We were looking towards a nice visit in New York City, as well as having a fine dining experience. We are followers of Iron Chef and looked forward to our evening at Butter. Our excitement quickly diminished. Service fell short of what one would have hoped for such an establishment. Not worth visiting, there are many fine establishments that you... More

Butter is a fabulous as you would expect! The concierge at our hotel made our reservation. It took us a little longer to walk there than our reservation time but we were immediately taken to our table. We had tickets to a show and they promised we'd have time to walk to the theater. We did. They started us with... More
