Best biscuits north of the Mason Dixon line

I really dislike tourist places, but I was with tourists and hungry so exceptions get made. Plus its NYC where everything is a tourist place. We had finished our journey walking the whole High Line when we saw this from above. The outdoor seating was the hook: just did not want to do inside. They... read more

We decided to start the 4th of July weekend early with a special dinner at this destination restaurant and I am soooooo glad we did. I have to say the atmosphere is my favorite type. Hardwood, worn floors, brick walls & an overall inviting feeling. The food was awesome. We had a salad to start with kale & cherries &... More

We stumbled upon Bubby's when we had aimed to visit the New Whitney Museum in the meatpacking district. The museum was closed that day but we had the chance to discover the friendly staff and good food at Bubby's. A nice crisp glass of wine for my companion and a recommended craft beer for me was the ideal addition to... More

Enjoyed a late lunch here after a visit to the new Whitney Museum adjacent to the Highline. Buddy's is a busy place so expect to wait a short while for an indoor or outdoor table. Had a tasty speciality melted cheese sandwich. Other enjoyed salads and sandwiches.

We were recommended to go here by our hotel concierge on our way to the 9/11 memorial. Great breakfast of pancakes and eggs and my husband had their equivalent of a full English. The service was warm and friendly and the atmosphere was also great, full of families and couples enjoying a nice weekend breakfast!

Cool place for (a not inexpensive) breakfast. The menu does not have many choices and most of them are in the heavy side, but tasty. The homemade granola makes it for a good healthier alternative. The inside and the atmosphere make it for a pleasant experience.

Terrible service from a male waiter clearly wanting to be a model. Totally non-attentive and false. The breakfast was awful, pancakes about 2cm thick and bland, the worst bacon I've ever had in the world- 80% fat and the rest inedible solid pork. Overlooked scrambled eggs that they hadn't even bothered to scramble properly and potatoes with about 12g of... More

This cute bar restaurant was recommended to me by a friend and I'm so glad I went. All of their food is fresh, even the drinks as well are made on site. The strawberry lemonade was delicious!

Very open, modern restaurant with lots of good breakfast choices. We went to this Tribeca location early on Sunday and it was packed, including lots of young families. There was lots of happy chatter. My son had the Griddle Special with sourdough pancakes, eggs and a delicious looking large, homemade sausage. I enjoyed the Scottish Salmon Eggs Benedict with Home... Loved it so much because of gourmet menu choices and atmosphere. The restaurant became a way too popular, and the wait time and service became just ridiculous. Sorry but no sorry.

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
