Omen is based on the traditional Royal Kyoto way of eating. Of course they do an excellent such and sashimi as well, but their specialty is far from the raw fish deal. They're known for their combination bowls of burdock root mixed with pumpkin and miso or a very tender tuna steak slightly braised on the outside and raw on... More

This is the real thing: Sashimi, all kinds of weeds, grasses and rice, and most of all: the Sake, served in a wooden box (that will most certainly spill on your nice dress). Always crowded, always crammed, always good. Just dont forget your wallet...

My family were a loyal customer to this restaurant for many years. we not only enjoy the authentic kaiseki menu, we also bring friends here for special occasion. But, since the beginning of 2013. Omen had changed the menu, now it feels like any other ordinary restaurant without the Kaiseki set menu. I will not go back since there are... More

There is more than sushi to Japanese, and this restaurant was fantastic! We sampled Soy Bean and Azuki Bean Rice with Organic 18 Grains, which was delightful, the Tofu, Eggplant and Lotus Roots, which was served with an incredibly flavorful broth, a platter of Deluxe Sashimi, super fresh, a vegetable tempura that had lotus, grated carrots, very different than your... This is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in NYC. The food is seasonal and always a surprise. The staple Omen udon is a must try on a cold winter night.

Food and services are good but bit expensive though. Only Amex card can be accepted thus I needed to pay in cash...

We love japanese food and this was good but not fantastic. Started with sashimi platter which was super fresh and had great flavours. Our mains of tempura seafood and terriakyi chicken were nice but not the best we have tasted. Service was super fast, which sometimes isn't ideal if you just want to relax a bit and enjoy your meal.... More

I have not reviewed the food as I did not stay to eat. They took my reservation but had no table. So far as I could understand, they apparently accept reservations but do not necessarily make sure that a table is available for the time reserved. Having arrived and given my name, they crossed my name in the reservations book... More

Went to Omen last night I'm normally very satisfied with everything here so it was a shock to see the restaurant has been downgraded to a B listing on the door The menu has changed so all my favourites have gone The menu is much smaller but the price is still high Do I think that may have been my...
