Good authentic Italian food in a nice setting.

Great menu selection, at somewhat reasonable prices. Nice room but a little crowded and noisy. Good wine selection and nice bar. Not unforgettable but worth the stop. Food is tasty and fresh without reaching the top, but very decent overall. I will go back.

We had this dinner as part of a bachelorette and friends weekend. With 15 friends and family from all over the U.S. Coming together for a surprise this place was perfect. We had appetizers and drinks at bar and the service was over the top since we did get there at 5:30 it was not crowded. Our table in the... More

There are many restaurants in NYC where it is not about the food. For some reason they continue to be popular and fun even though the food is just ok. This is one of them. OMG is it fun...you feel like you are in a restaurant of the moment, even though the moment started 30 years ago. Instead of Warhol... More

I went to Il Cantinori as part of a small group during a friend's bachelorette weekend. While the front room with its large open windows overlooking the street was lovely, we were happy to be in the back room. It was cozy and well-suited to good conversation. From the moment that we sat down, we felt special - the waiter... More

Hidden in the East Village area of Manhattan is Il Cantinori. Inside you find a lovely restaurant and Bar. The rear room is spacious and the noise level is low. The menu is extensive filled with italian favorites and a host of specials. The chef cooks the food perfectly. They will also make changes to you dish upon request such... More

Yummy, yummy. A beautiful gem on 10th Street in NYC. From the moment we entered the restaurant we knew this was going to be a great meal. The restaurant had bouquets of spring blossoms throughout the restaurant. The staff was very helpful and attentive - Most of our group had veal and I had a wonderful chicken breast with lemon wine... I enjoyed a repeat visit after having been away from Il Cantinori for a long time - way too long in fact as its just as good as I remembered it. Classic Italian dining in the heart of Greenwich Village on 10th Street. Judging by those around us pretty much everything on the menu continues to delight. excellent home made... More

Everything about this place is awesome...its location (Greenwich Village), its staff (from Domenico, the outgoing bartender from Siena to the team of servers who anticipate your needs), to the fresh flowers that adorn the Restaurant where only regulars who eat here nightly are permitted in the front room, to the food (amazing house made pastas to the best damn lamb... Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
