Spent new years eve here this year and it was just the perfect evening. Understated celebrations, attentive and friendly staff, wonderful food - and no overinflated prices just because it was NYE. would definitely return when I'm back in New York

Had the pleasure of eating here on New Year's Eve. It was so good we immediately booked a table for the following Saturday evening. The food, the buzz, the fun! Wonderful service. Terrific food with a huge selection of dishes. On the second evening we were served by Frank who is the best waiter in the Tri-State area! ;-) I... More

Il Cantinori has stood the test of time. I used to go there when I lived in NYC many years ago and returned during my recent visit. The food is still excellent! Service was great too. It is expensive, but not outrageous for New York. The restaurant was full and a bit noisy, but not too bad. If you are... More

If you are attending an event at the Grace Church this is the exceptional restaurant to eat at. We did not have a reservation, but yet they fit us in as we were on our way to The Choral Society and Orchestra annual Christmas concert .www.thechoralsociety.org. Plan ahead and make a reservation which we had not done, as we did... More

The service is out of this world, attentive, fun and charming without being too pushy especially for the Europeans that like to be left alone when they dine. Stylish, elegant, the food amazing!!! Ask for half of the portion when ordering main as the portions are typical American- very big . Expensive but a fine dinning it is. Highly recommended.

My husband and I went to Il Cantinori for lunch during restaurant week, and the entire experience was fabulous from start to finish. Highlights included the salmon carpaccio, the eggplant ricotta appetizer and the filet of sole. It's the best Italian we've found in the city. We'll definitely be returning asap.

Il Cantinori is the New York Italian eatery you've always imagined, with locals sitting at the front tables spilling out onto the sidewalk, flower arrangements the size of furniture, New York-Italian waiters accommodating your every need, and fresh, tasty Italian food. Had a wonderful lunch during NYC Summer Restaurant week that exceeded all expectations for fine food, great service an super value. Can you imagine starting with a generous plate of Norwegian smoked salmon, followed by a delicious perfectly prepared Filet of Sole with capers and white wine sauce and topped with a sinful sweet to end the meal for $25.... If you had to pick one restaurant to dine at every time your in NYC this would be it. No pretense, just great food. Owner caters to the East Village neighborhood he's been in for 30 years, and it gets better with age. We shared the seafood pasta in a blush sauce and the freshness of the ingredients was exquisite.... More

This restaurant came highly recommended. We asked for a specific waiter who was not working the night we visited. So instead the manager gave us their newest waiter. Does that make sense? Orders were consistently wrong and delivered to the wrong person. Bill, was wrong and the. They lost their copy and chased me down as I was grabbing a cab... More
