Better before but still good.

Dojo was one of my absolute faves when I first moved here. The soy burger? The stuff of dreams! Sadly they've renovated, and it isn't nearly the same. The soy burger can now only be bought at the bar...

As a customer of 10yrs I can tell you how this place has changed over time, and not for the better. This place began as a American/Asian fusion eatery (their American fare was much better). They won my heart with their carrot tahini sauce. Last year they closed for a while, renovated & revamped the menu, and it was all... More

Had a delicious lunch with their lunch boxes and appetizers. The waiter wasn't the friendliest but the quality of the food made up for it. I would definitely go back when in the area.

The room was clean, bright and the food was very good. It's pretty much all Japanese food for dinner now. I had heard mixed things about this place, but I was pleasantly surprised. The prices are low and the service was good. Overall, I would return. It's not elegant but it's a bargain in NYC even with their new higher... More

i went for lunch on a weekday , and my party of two was seated immediately. While there were some tempting Japanese selections that we saw on other diners' tables, we both opted for brunch and ordered eggs with grilled potatoes -- eggs florentine and an omelet. Everything was prepared and served perfectly, and we spent about $10 per person... More

We haven’t been for awhile...and while it’s a decent physical plant makeover that DoJo’s gave itself, the revamped menu is expensive, sparse, and leaves a lot to be desired. We were extremely disappointed by everything on offer except for the original 1972 Hajiki Tofu Dinner for $7.95. Prices are high, portions are skinty, and service is spotty! It’s no longer... More

Granted things happen... Like finding a hair in your food. I found one prominantly displayed in my gyoza tempura tonight. Ewwww. And no one noticed. This is not the old dojo. Avoid.

My wife and I, who have been DoJo fans for decades, were saddened by it's recent closing but heartened to hear it would be re:opening post renovations. After many months it finally has re:opened--- well- something calling itself "DoJo's" has. DoJo's was an unpretentious place full of character(and characters) with a healthy, lovingly made, eclectic menu at reasonable prices. It... More

My partner and I have designated Dojo as our "go-to" restaurant. They have a great variety of choices for many tastes and varied appetites and the prices are very reasonable. Recently, we had family from out-of-town visiting us. They were very diversified in terms appetites. We had a vegetarian, a weight watcher, a serious carnivore, a fish eater and a... More

I came here with some friends the other day for a quick bite to eat. It's not a Japanese restaurant, more a fusion type place. The food was very basic; my chopstick salad didn't have much flavor and was mostly watered down by the wet salad greens. I understand the appeal of this place if you're in a hurry and... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
