Love ther soups!

Really loud, great food, nice staff. A great choice in Union Square, eat here all the time! Love their eggplant, and their spicy chicken soup. The green papaya salad is also excellent!!!

Nice fusion-style Asian (Vietnamese) food. Service is good, but music can be loud. A few tables are outside. Also vegetarian dishes.

It was my first time there and it was definitely a treat! I ordered the Wonton noodles and it was so good. I loved having the different kinds of wontons exploding with all the different flavors and the noodles in my mouth. I loved the casual tables and bench seats...it makes you think of family style eating. It was very... More

I've been to Republic more times than I can remember and love it every time. I've been going since it opened in the 90's and it still has great energy and food, and for the most part reasonably good service. Based on Asian communal dining, you sit at long tables, sometimes with people you don't know. It's that strange energy... More

This is a very good Asian restaurant. We had different dishes and we all enjoyed the food. It is a very busy and noisy place, so young children may not like it. Teenagers and adults will definitely enjoy the restaurant.

After running around Soho during a cold afternoon/evening, my BF and I ended up in Union Square. After reviewing some options, this sounded like a great idea. We expected a long wait at 8pm on a Friday night...but only had to let them clear a space! Republic has shared seating, so it's a little cozy, and not private. But if... More

So glad you enjoyed your first visit, Caity! The Pad Thai's definitely the fan favorite around here, and we couldn't be happier that the veggie version hit the spot. We hope to see you and your boyfriend back again sometime soon. All the best, Edward, General Manager More

This is another one of the those NYC Must-try restaurants, where there is something on the menu for everyone. Our recent trip here resulted in the following recommendations - bento box, chicken skewers, pad thai and vegetable dumplings. Despite being packed for lunch, they were able to juggle the orders in the front, back and the take-out patrons with ease.... More

Republic is one of those palces to enjoy with friends and family. The salmon and rice is incredible, the chicken pad thai is simply good and the coconut soup is awesome.

I hadn’t been to Republic for about 5 years, so my return visit was with high hopes that it was still a dazzling pan Asian restaurant that my memories etched into my brain. Republic lives up to their goal of serving very fresh, well-crafted dishes from Korea, Vietnam, China, Malaysia and Thailand. There may some other countries represented, but you... More

I'm happy that you enjoyed your most recent meal with us and that it lived up to the great memory of previous visits! More specifically, it's excellent that your beef soup and glass noodles were both tasty and that you felt everything was generously portioned. Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
