We visited Markt for lunch last week. I ordered a penne pasta that was undercooked. The sauce was really good. I guess I should have known better than to order an Italian dish in a Belgian restaurant so that's my fault. Service was very good and the atmosphere was lively. My daughter ordered a vegetable sandwich that she loved.

Easy place to grab a good lunch and great Belgian beer. Stick with the draughts - there's really no reason to ask for bottled beer with all the other variety.

I went to Markt for brunch with a friend and I guess its a telling sign in NYC that when all the eateries near Markt have a line out front, Markt has plenty of spare tables. The service was pleasant. Very welcoming although a little slow in general. Not a bad thing for a Sunday brunch when you don't want... More

We got an inexperienced waiter, but I must say he tried to do his best. As a main course I had moules in garlic cream, and this was not good. We had been recommended this restaurang with Belgian focus, and especially for their Moules. Maybe they had a bad day, but I am not going there again.

We met with some old friends over dinner. The food was excellent. The service perfect. They let us sit there and talk for hours. I really recommend this place.

We came in here - no reservation - on a rainy lunchtime in November. We were made welcome and shown a table. The food was excellent, I have noticed a few people have said it was noisy - we did not notice this but were sitting near the door at the front but it might have been a bit noisier... More

This is a belgian brasserie/bistro that feels authentic. Menu is full of specialities such as moules, cabillaud/cod and eel-infused mashed potatoes. The list of belgian beers is impressive. I really, really recommend this place.

Looking for a place not too far from our hotel we came across this Belgian restaurant. We had pumpkin ravioli appetizer, pan seared chicken & the steak warped meatballs for mains & finished with the dark chocolate mouse in a chocolate cup. Everything was great I did notice the hours shown on TripAdvisor for Saturday are incorrect; shows closing at... More

Lovely brunch menu with French press coffee. A perfect place for the rainy Saturday morning we visited.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
