Nice spot, Good food, great for beer lovers, but not cheap

had dinner here solo. Found the food to be of high quality, but neither drinks nor food was inexpensive for a beer style joint..more like an upscale Belgian beer joint.

Absolutely ….Average. the steak was really hard, the air conditioning freezing (although we asked to lower it twice!) and they put table clothes on every table except our (?!). Go somewhere else.

I arrived in NY from Australia a couple of hours ago and was just wandering around looking for somewhere good but casual to eat. Stumbled upon this place and very glad I did. Belgian beer is always fantastic and this lived up to that reputation. I ate the pate entree and the slow cooked beef main with fries. Both were... More

Stopped in for a couple of cocktails and modules (mussels) one afternoon when out shopping. Great service, fresh mussels and tasty cocktails.

Markt is in a great location, but it appears as though the neighborhood already knows what we figured out the hard way- don't go. The fact that it was mostly empty for Sunday brunch means that the poor service and mediocre food we received is not an unfortunate one-time event, but evidence of a longer trend. As with most less... More

The food was very good. The only part that soured the experience were the prices and the portions. I don't have any qualms about splurging on a nice meal, but honestly, it just didn't feel worth it when then food arrived. I left hungry after an appetizer and an entree.

Went for dinner and enjoyed it very much. As we had tried the other local restaurants near where we were staying and had been disappointed thought it was worth a try. Great atmosphere and loved the decor, Lots of foreign beers which I loved. Service was great and Carlos looked after us and he was very polite all night. The... More

The food and service is good. Keep in mind though, this is a busy (spelled LOUD) restaurant with tables on top of each other. (The tables need to be pulled out to allow those seated on the inside to get in or out.) If you like lively places, this could be it. If you're looking for a quiet romantic dinner,... More

Lots if beer on offer. Really nice bar on a busy corner to people watch. Did not eat but food looked really nice. Good cocktail menu.

The only positive thing I can say is that the location is nice, especially if you can snag a table outside. The food is unbelievably boring, barely mediocre. Croque Monsieur should have a French flair to it, n'est pas? Nope. It's basically a couple of lame slices of Wonder Bread upon which they slapped a thin slice of ham and... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
