Description: Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, Negril Village promises to...
Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, Negril Village promises to entertain your soul as well as your palette in a hip & classy environment. The latest installment in the Negril chain specializes in Nu Caribbean cuisine or what is dubbed “New York Savvy Caribbean cuisine”. The menu embraces the cooking styles and techniques of destinations such as Trinidad (i.e. Chicken Roti), Puerto Rico (i.e. Island Paella), and of course Jamaica (i.e. Jerk Chicken and Ackee). Set on two levels, the restaurants décor can be described as contemporary yet natural. The spacious dining room, on the upper level, boasts bamboo floors and seashell lined walls; while the Rhum lounge, on the lower level, warms you with its raisin interior, red lacquer floors, and in-house DJ. Live Reggae, Calypso, and Latin bands will further enchant you as you sip one of Negril Village’s many tropical drinks.

My boyfriend went to the other restaurant a long time ago and always talked about their food and how good it was so we decided one night to make the 2 and a half hour trip from CT to check out this place... The food was good but nothing that wowed me it was just as good as any other... More

the oxtail is on point. Stop in for lunch or dinner. There's even a lounge downstairs to shake your legs if you so desire.

I came here recently for lunch with two friends and was not disappointed. The vibe of the restaurant was great and our waiter was friendly. For appetizers, we shared the jerk chicken wings, which were tasty and juice (great seasoning), and the cornbread, which was also yummy. I had the coconut salmon, which was very good, but just a little... More

My family and friends in New York swear by this place and while there a good time was had by all. The starters were excellent, as were the drinks, but the jerk chicken was a little dry, which was disappointing. The waiter however was very very good, as was the ambience. Not the easiest place to find but you likely... More

My first trip to Negril Village was quite the win. I joined an old college friend, and she and I split a sampler plate ( I can't remember the exact name on the menu). Everything was wonderful. Our platter included ox tail which was very tender and delicious. I also had the coconut rum punch. It was a good balance... More

I went to Negril for the first time & must say I would definitely go back. From the staff to the food I enjoyed myself. The coconut rum punch was on point ad well as my oxtail meal. The collars greens could have used seasoning but overall everything was great..

There were 3 clearly labeled vegetarian options, which was great since Caribbean food is often super meat heavy (though they were out of one). Food was tasty (I got the quinoa bean stew) and the portions were good. Service was good overall and the atmosphere was nice. Prices were a bit high ($16 for veg and more for meat), but... More

Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
