Description: Pastis is a French bistro located in Manhattan's meatpacking district opened by Keith McNally. Executive Chefs Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson and Chef de Cuisine Pascal Le Seac'h prepare a menu that combines hearty Provencal dishes with moderately-priced bistro fare. The bar serves a range of house cocktails, wines by the glass, carafe or bottle, and several varieties of pastis, an anise-flavored aperitif from the south of France.

We were there at 11:15 AM with two young kids and three adults. We wanted to order lunch, but that was not served till Noon...sorry! So, we landed up ordering breakfast items. We asked them to hurry up with the kids order but the adults order came before the kids! With two kids (2 & 4) and three adults, the... More

Booked a table here for Brunch on Sunday and ordered the traditional English with tea and toast - lovely , my wife had the eggs benedict which she said was good. Only downside is the tables are way too small - great place for breakfast and right in the centre of the meat packing district.

A noisy french bistro. Nice atmosphere and OK food. The service was attentive but not very pleasant. The waitress looked like she was having a bad day. I had the day's special, Lobster Ravioli which was not to my liking. Fortuntaely, my wife, bless her heart, agreed to trade it for her sirolin steak which was very good. My wife... More

A very French bistro! People stacked together in a loudly atmosphere. Delicious food, the service a bit to quick to be good enough. It was like we had to leave as soon as we had finished our meal, with new guests nearly hanging over our table. However, it was worth it...

Excellent service - particularly our very friendly and helpful waitress. So nice not to be asked if all your party have arrived (seems to be NY standard) before being allowed to go to your table!Good food, especially potato gratin, and reasonably priced wine. Nice busy, buzzy atmosphere but no feeling of rush or fuss. Only downside was miniature table (although... More

I'm writing this review more for the HELPFUL people who work at Pastis, in particular the fabulous maitre de. On both occasions I've been there over the past 3 weeks, he has found me a table, without reservation, and more importantly, without attidude!! These days you really have to love it when the person seating looks you in the eye,... More

I've always counted on Pastis for comfortable unpretentious dining in the trendy Meat Market neighborhood of Manhattan. One of the early restaurants in the area, Pastis has maintained its high standard of very good food and service. Steak Frites is always done as it is in the better restaurants in Paris. The roasted chicken was also perfectly prepared. The standout... More
