Great food and atmosphere; service a little too casual

This place is a reliable neighborhood standby and I have been many times. The food is great, and the atmosphere is also great (a nice change from the slightly same-ish trendy high-end places). It's fairly small and slightly quirky. Possibly because they are reliably full, the service often leaves... read more

I've heard a lot about Il Buco and its famed kale salad and pastas. We arrived without reservations on a Thursday night in August and they were able to accommodate us at the bar after a short wait. The kale salad was ridiculously good and the zucchini special was amazing as well. Pasta entree was excellent. Setting is romantic, rustic... More

This cute hidden restaurant on bond street may be misleading by the look of it outside, but when you walk in that feeling changes instantly. Rustic wood work, fresh flowers, romantic lighting. The food is incredible. Charcuterie plate is of ample size, burrata is fantastic and the pastas are delicious. If your in the area I would def make a... More

Went her for my mother's 90th birthday. We reserved the chef's table and has a wonderful experience both gastronomically and socially. We were able to see the open kitchen and the food was brought out in an extremely well timed manner. We felt neither rushed nor have to wait too long in between courses. The sommelier was extremely helpful and... More

Great place for a romantic date night or with a close group of friends. Wine was amazing, the atmosphere along with the incredible food all superseded expectations.

Authentic Italian food made with the best ingredients with great service. Good wine selection. Lovely downstairs wine cellar with room for a small group of people. I highly recommend to visit this place !

I had dinner here with friends a few weeks ago. Overall, I wasn't a fan of the place. It just seemed a bit flat, stuffy and serious. And over priced and the space a bit cramped. I'm sure it's trying to be old-school classic traditional Italian however it didn't really work for me. It lacked the buzzy atmosphere that I... More

Il Buco, why do you hate me so? The service during our Friday night dinner was putrid at best, bordering on offensive at its worst. The food was good, at some points fine, at some points very good. It wasn't great and it's far from it. Nonetheless all of this could have been forgiven and our evening saved if not... More

Nice restaurant, great service, good food but NYC prices! My wife and me went in Il Buco for lunch. We enjoyed our food, good and really tasty. Tables are beautiful with fresh flowers. Wine list is really interesting and service is professional...

We went to the restaurant based on a recommendation. Friends were visiting from Australia and wanted to go out for a nice Italian dinner. The ambiance was lovely with dim lighting, and farm tables with miss-matched chairs. We sat at the center of a large wooden table that had 2 other parties sitting at the ends. The peasant breads were... More
