Great Italian!!

We were recommended to this restaurant by the hotel and I am so glad we took their advise. It was a little noisy but apart from that the atmosphere and the food were excellent. The only thing I would say about NYC is the wine is extremely expensive compared to England. I must say the staff were... read more

I have eaten here on several occasions as part of a group and was always very impressed. So when travelling to NYC with a few friends recently, I just had to bring them here. I shouldn't have bothered! There were several issues on the night (space, serving staff....), all of which I could overlook had the food been good. But... More

This restaurant has many positives! We were a table of five for dinner, a very comfortable booth in the corner. We ended up ordering 6 appetizers to share among the table and the waiter delivered them individually at a perfect pace to suit us. We tried the burrata, lamb sausage, kale salad, cuttle fish, shrimp, tuna and then as a... More

Once again we had a wonderful dining experience at Il Buco! While like in any restaurant some dishes are better than others, the food, preparation and ingredients are first class. And again while not cheap, there are other restaurants where you pay less money but the experience is not as good in terms of the food, wine and ambiance. We... More

When we arrived for our reservation, the restaurant was very crowded. We were asked if we would mind eating downstairs in the wine cellar which they had opened for that evening because of demand. Normally this area is reserved for private parties. It is beautiful, cozy and less noisy than upstairs. Food was superb. We shared homemade pasta, and each... More

This gem has been around for decades and deserves to ! Highest quality informative staff negotiating a very busy intimate location. Wine list had a few absolute gems including a 1951 Barolo ! Support the NYC institution and you won't be disappointed ! Pasta dishes sublime ! Yum

il Buco is located on a quiet street away from the hustle of the City but the food will get your attention. The restaurant is beautiful, small, rustic, and romantic. You could easily stare into the eyes of your date or gaze longingly into the beautiful food set before you. The menu is broken up with a lengthy list of... More

Difficult to have a table. But I understand why. Very authentic Italian food, simple menu , but of impeccable quality. The service is great. The wine list is great. My pasta dish was amazing ..and It read like Spaghetti, Green peas, and Peccorino, crab meat , olive oil.. But it was AMAZING ..

Seems like an eternity this place has been going. With a lively bar scene too and bookings recommended (although walk-ups didn't seem to have to wait toolong mid-week), this efficiently run old skool Italian is highly dependble with selections in all categories: meat, fish, veg and pasta all looking and tasting(I tasted everybody else's!) well prepared. The astonishing wine list... More
