GREAT authentic trattoria food, poor service. They only take CASH

A trattoria with a wait line outside is an excellent sign. And so is Bar Pitti. Delicious traditional italian: first rate ingredients simply put together. They serve the best eggplant parmigiana ever (I don't order this in restaurants but my friend fortunately did!) and the burratta!!! We had these... read more

They serve the best eggplant parmigiana ever (I don't order this in restaurants but my friend fortunately did!) and the burratta!!! I loved Bar Pitti! A lot of beautiful people, very cool and a great service. The food is very good and the price is great. Me and my boyfriend ate a wonderful burrata and I look forward to returning. It was a great experience.

Good service and fast prep. The food is good, but not outstanding. Nice atmosphere both in and outside. Expensive and no cards accepted. Lots of locals and coal color.

Very busy place. The food is very good and real italian. The pice is reasonable if you compare with other places in Ny. Sometimes the service is slow and seems like you're begin to be attending. They're cash only.

Rarely do I give a bad review. Twice we tried to get into this restaurant and while it is continuously busy and we thought it would be a great place to eat we found the experience simply trying to get a table so much of a pain it ruined it for us. Not only did the manager/owner/jerk who seats people... More

Great pasta as well the melanzane. The wine has a far price. Nice place and neighborhood. Being around do not hesitate to stop by.

We live in the mid west and I have a friend who lives in the mid west who was born and raised New York and she recommended this place. I wasn't really impressed. We were there around 6 pm on a Thursday and there was hardly anyone there. The waitress did say that we just missed Jim Carey and I... More

Recently enjoyed lunch here with friends. The 4 of us are semi foodies and are hardto impress . We just loved every aspect of our experience from the bread with excellent olive oil .We shared starters which were just wonderful plus our main courses veal and lamb shank were excellent . The wine selection was also quite good and we... More

So far, best italian cantina in town!!! Fast and efficient service. Perfect and delicious food. We were a big group so we order many dishes and everyone of them was beyond! Best one: Gnocchi alla Gorgonzola This place it´s always busy and crowded. So, if you don´t mind thats great, but if you do, don´t you bother going during winter... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
