Thuggish waiters, below average food, atrocious service, and all of that for a steep price. If this is your idea of an evening - you found your paradise here. Otherwise this is a catastrophy all in capital letters. NYC has so much good to offer - why anyone chooses this hellish spot is beyond me.

The food was bland, from a can, the pasta was overcooked, and the manager told me "get out, we don't need your business" when I complained they had not posted the cash only policy (which they are supposed to do by law).

was in NYC for a conference last week. One of my colleagues suggested we eat here. What a LOVELY evening it was! REAL Italian cooking, sitting outside on the terrace, felt like w were in Italy (almost....). A couple of my colleagues spoke Italian and the wait staff are all Italian - great food, great wine, great conversation, great company...... More

I had dinner with my boyfriend a couple nights ago, and while the outdoor seating is pleasant, the SERVICE WAS AWFUL. Aside from witnessing the manager yell at and berate a table of girls behind us, we were treated with the utmost disrespect. Our food was cleared from under us before we could even finish our last bite! The worst... More

I've been to Bar Pitti several times since I first moved to the neighborhood over three years ago, and while I've seen indications of poor service each time I have dined at Bar Pitti (just look at EVERY OTHER review - even the 4 stars indicate bad service), I overlooked it since I was typically grabbing a quick bite and... The title says it all. Maybe that's just NYC. On the plus side, they did find room for 5 when we had a reservation for 4. We sat outside and while crowded was fine - in fact quieter and actually cooler than inside. Waiter tried to take the appetizer away before we'd finished it and when I protested he was... More

Very good italian. The pastas are great. Also the buffala is incredible. Not very costly so that's great. Go there. For the dinner you need to reserve.

Went for lunch during the weekday. We were seated outside. Cash only, great views. Waiters were arrogant and unfriendly. Italian pasta dishes more than made up for the arrogance. Delicious, perfect pasta. Great atmosphere.

We arrived late but it was very nice to sit outside on the sidewalk and enjoy a pleasant night of summer. The pasta was delicious and the wine too. It is a little bit pricey but we ordered truffles. A bad thing is they don't accept cards! So make sure you have some money when you visit there!
