Highlighted in the national and local press, Spice Market, on the corner of 9th Avenue, is inspired by the street food that Jean-Georges Vongerichten enjoyed while traveling in Asia. Authentically uplifted versions of flavourful street foods are served family-style, with dishes arriving continuously throughout the meal for all to share. Spice Market also offers corporate and social dining for large groups in the restaurant, lounge, and intimate, semi-private alcove rooms.

Small plates and trendy. Food was delicious and there as something for everyone! It's an experience I am glad we had. Fun night!

Overall an interesting fusion of flavours meant to share, but the dishes are rather small, turning into an expensive experience. The idea of people handling me paper towels on the restrooms seems too much for me, bordering servilism, specially when the restrooms are dark and you failed to notice him/her.

Me and my friend went to spice Market on a friday night. This is an Asian fusion restaurant. The decoration is breath taking I love the style. It had some kind of magical feeling, it takes you away on a trip.... Looks like Budha bar to me. The food was really good, we tried the restaurant week menu and loved every... More

this used to be one of the place to be, we went there 4 times and i must say that my last visit was a total disaster, food average, service not attentive and commercial music playing all night. this is a shame because the restauratn itself is still a very nice place. we ordered a wine that was bad, it... Love the place. Our 1st night in NY, hectic ambiance, good food and good service. The waiter was very attentive to us, even if the restaurant was full, give us good suggestions. Food was delicious, fresh and the surrounding joy made a nice evening. I ll recommend it,staff seemed well educated and polite.

A very busy and sharp restaurant. The food is excellent. A bit noisy but beautiful environment. Our only complaint was that our meals did not come out together.

The food is so creative and delicious and our server was really helpful and knowledgeable. We had an early reservation (6:30) so there wasn't any trouble being seated. The decor was absolutely stunning, you feel like you are in a different world. favorite dishes were spring rolls, chicken samosas, and coconut sorbet. What a great NYC experience!

Came here tonight off of a recommendation from a friend and our group of four were equally won over. The first impression when you walk in is a "wow" - decor is absolutely stunning. The place is huge so maybe it's easier to get a table here than other smaller restaurants? At 6:30 there were plenty of tables open but... More

We are not young and at the beginning we thought we wouldn´t stand the music cause it´s too loud, but then you get used to it and to the lack of light (use you cellphone light to watch the menu) The food was excellent spicy and well cooked. Nice experience. The neighbourhood is very trendy at night. We were the... More

Had diner with my wife last night. Totally enjoyed the atmosphere, kitchen and service. We both took the Restaurant week menu, and every dish on it was excellent. I ordered additional noodles (no need to), chili-garlic shrimp, which was also very tasty. Will definitely go again.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
