Seven of us were out to dinner at Alta on 10th Street in the Village, one of the group had been there many times and just raved about it, especially the Crispy Brussels Sprouts and this place did not disappoint! I lost count of how many dishes of the Crispy Brussels Sprouts were on our table! I remember having Fried... More

It was a great find in NYC, fabulous Mediterranean restaurant. All of the tapas dishes were delicious especially paella! Great neighborhood atmosphere!

Food was amazing but it was very expensive. A sangria was $13. It was the closest I've had to an authentic Spanish sangria in the U.S. The tapas style servings were very small but delicious. We had paella, pulled pork empanadas, brussel sprouts, bacon wrapped dates and beef sliders. Everything was more delicious than the previous. Four of us went... More

Alta has an excellent atmosphere, you could think you are in a chateau in Tuscany. Definitely worth trying with friends or for a romantic dinner. The menu is very interesting, ideas are great, like "seafood tagine", although I think the result could be improved. Service was also very good and the wine selection very very good.

At its best, food is a communal experience. This can be experienced with everybody eating the same thing at the same time from a tasting menu (which is the culinary equivalent of synchronized swimming), or even better, when plates are thrust upon the table and passed around. Alta is the perfect destination for the latter, in an otherwise nondescript location... More

We've been here several times, and it always delivers. Great food, great service, and great for groups. The Tapas is authentic and delicious. You will not be disappointing.

Great location and so much fun! It's great to do small plates. We were able to try so many different things. Get and extra short rib because they are so good, one won't be enough... Actually five won't be enough! Sangria was good, but nothing extraordinary like other reviews said. Our server was fantastic and very funny. Great location to... More

Had dinner with friends before a show at the Comedy Cellar. We where running late and explained our time constraints to the waiter. He said he would pace everything to get us on our way. He did just that, and it was all excellent. Nothing was left behind. We just wish there was more time. The next visit will last... More

My husband and I were going to a jazz show at Club Mezzrow and learned that Alta was nearby. It was a little hard to find even when we were right nearby, but you must persist because the food and atmosphere are divine. We tried 3 dishes each and like every single one. I especially loved the lamb meatballs and... More

It had been several years since my last visit, but boy was I missing out. The setting is cozy and romantic, so it's good for a first date / nice night out with a significant other. The menu is tapas, so it's a nice way to taste several different dishes. They suggest 2-3 dishes per person, depending on their size.... More
