Brazilian food infused with Japanese food, or is it the other way around? Nonetheless it was lovely and great. I'm really looking forward to our next meal there. The waitstaff were helpful and friendly and the fusion food was exceptional. Happy days!

Restaurant is a bit quarky versus the modern and cool location in Las Vegas. Service was ok but quite slow at times. Food was not as great as expected based on experiences at other locations. The rock shrimp was not very crispy, more of a soggie texture. The sashimi in coconut bowl was really good.

The menu was confusing and the wait staff did little to help us order. The food was fine but service poor and expensive given the quality and amount of food.

The life of a restaurant in NYC is often short. You have to be good to make it past 6 months. Great to make it a year. And excellent to become a vetted establishment that has a lifespan worth noting. After 15+ years, not only has Sushi Samba remained open, but the place is still packed most nights of the... More

Went here for dinner Saturday night. Make sure you book as it gets very busy. Had a great vibe in the venue and very lively, but not too much. Had about 8 dishes between the 2 of us and it was a good amount. The wagyu beef samba rolls were incredible, we listened to their recommendations and there wasn't a... More

One of our favorites! We ordered the tasting menu. Told the waiter, who was amazing a few things we like and he made up the menu for us. Started with scallops tempura and then beef dumplings.. Both amazing! Such a lively , fun atmosphere. Food was delicious. third time there and each time is better.

This was the third time I visited Sushi Samba West Village. The first time was great (year 2010), the second time not so great (year 2012), but this time it was fabulous (year 2015). The trick is, as always, to know what to order from the menu. I had : - Sweet Corn Kakiage with truffle sauce - Simple but... More

Visited this place with a set of friends during the restaurant week. We all felt the place has been over hyped. The food isn't the best. Amongst so many different items we tried, the best is their "El Topo". It is salmon just so perfectly medleyed with all the spices and fried onions. We were thoroughly disappointed with the dessert-... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
