Balthazar - one fantastic restaurant.

We popped in ad hoc to this restaurant on recommendation from a friend, our table was a bit jammed in next to the maitre'd but the food and service were very good. The restaurant is stunning inside and absolutely buzzing. People were pouring in and it was a wednesday night.

Balthazar was recommended to us by a good friend, and she didn't disappoint! My daughter & I had breakfast there - twice! It's that good! The pancakes were the best I've ever had, and I really don't care for pancakes! The service was very friendly,

So it is with a heavy heart I write this review. I have been dying to go here. All I have heard are rave reviews. So my friend and I cam here for brunch. We were extremely underwhelmed. I ordered a belini and it very sweet. My friend had a cup of coffee, which was fine. We shared a sugar... More

I love the feel when you walk in Balthazar. It's loud but more bubbling with conversation and just great vibes. We didnt have a reso but came right around 12:30 so beat all the other people coming without one and got a table right away. We started with martinis which were great and moved on to a bottle of the... More

Known it for years, this time went there for breakfast. The main dish, eggs any style with potatoes was excellent, the sourdough bread done by their own bakery was very good, so were the coffee and the cinnamon roll. The atmosphere is a little bit noisy, but a very positive one ... a good vibe ... I'll be back !

We didn't have a reservation on a Tuesday. Our options were to wait for a table at 10, or take our chances with the teensiest table imaginable squeezed into a corner. We grabbed it. A great wine list, classic French menu that experiments a little (my friend had the duck shepherds pie, Delish!!) and good service rounded out the evening.... More

Everything a French bistro should be: busy, close quarters, great atmosphere, good food, and lots of hustle and bustle. Great decor. Not too serious, just a great place to go and enjoy.

We came across this restaurant by chance in a walk around the neighbourhood on a Sunday - Father's Day in fact. Not being a couple who like to wait for a table, we debated requesting as there was a little queue. I'm very glad that we did, however. Only a 20 minute wait, which was spent with a further wander,... More
