To this day, I still crave the pork belly. Crispy skin and tender meat with root vegetables make this one of my more memorable meals. Had the bandol white wine and not a big fan of white wines but this one was so good that I went to go visit the vineyard last summer. Waiter was a bit of a... More

We travelled to New York from Melbourne Australia. As we love our coffee (we live in Brunswick, so we are spoiled for choice). As we were a little underwhelmed with coffee on our last US trip Balthazar was recommended to us to try for coffee and eat. So we pulled up a seat at the bar and ordered a double... More

Had breakfast at this iconic restaurant. The service, food and atmosphere were all very good. This restaurant completely lives up to it's reputation - a must do if in NYC.

Back again. The place is always great. I love the large room, the zinc bar and the mirrors. Reminds me of Montparnese. There's always a good buzz in there. The waiters are always friendly, and the food is always delicious. I've always heard about the long wait to get seated, but we've never waited more than five minutes.

This is an authentic New York eatery in the SoHo area. We enjoyed a gourmet meal at a very reasonable price! the surroundings are original, and service was superb. We enjoyed Pan Roasted Organic Salmon, Moule Frites, and Blanquette d'Agneau for our mains, Pavlova, Seasonal Peach Pie and a Lemon Mille Feuille for dessert. Worth every penny! Just go!

This is the "real-deal" if you're looking for a large, busy, French-inspired café that takes you back to the feel of the early 1900s. Lots of hustle 'n bustle, and good for people watching. In spite of the fact that they were very busy, they were able to seat our party of 3 within 15 minutes. We only had coffee... More

Clearly a very popular restaurant with both locals and tourists. Also a place to mingle and be seen. The food is very fresh, tasty and waiters we experienced efficient, interested and personable. Soft shell crabs a must!

Turned up without a booking but got table easy enough in the cafe area - by the bar and actually not bad if you are eating alone. I came here the day it first opened in 97 and nothing has changed. Good service, nice buzzy atmosphere. Menu not overly exciting and portions possibly on the small side but everything cooked... More

Great goat cheese onion tart, fries, salmon, lamb and fettuccini. Nice choice of French wines. Very good wait staff.
