We went there this weekend for lunch and sat at the bar, my husband had the steak and frites and I had the grilled chicken. The food and service was excellent a keeper for our trips to NYC!

This is a fabulous bistro and I love the décor. Our table ordered the seafood towers and it disappeared in two minutes - very fresh. Wonderful Steak au Poivre with matchstick fries. I've been twice and the second time it was so crowded. I prefer it quieter so you can appreciate the ambiance.

We went on a Wednesday evening right as Balthazar was opening. It got very crowed very quickly. This did not take away from the great service that we received though. The food was excellent also. Can't wait to return....

I had dinner in this restaurant, thanks to a recommendation from the receptionist of the hotel I was staying, and man she was right! Once you get in you feel in Paris thanks to the vibe and the interior design of the place, the attention is nice and the food is just amazing! I had a steak and it was... More

One of my favorite experiences was spending the afternoon sitting with my son at Balthazar's beautiful bar. We indulged in two platters of oysters along with the bar fare of perfectly boiled eggs, crusty bread and butter. The handsome maître d', Zouheir, could not have been more attentive and we enjoyed scintillating conversations with the other guests.

This restaurant is part of Keith MacNally's collection of fine restaurants in NYC, and it is an excellent recreation of the classic French bistro. The neighborhood is chic and trendy, there are obviosly "regulars" who must live nearby in incredibly cute and trendy loft apartments and think nothing of dropping $40 for an order of steak frites. Don't get me... More

To this day, I still crave the pork belly. Crispy skin and tender meat with root vegetables make this one of my more memorable meals. Had the bandol white wine and not a big fan of white wines but this one was so good that I went to go visit the vineyard last summer. Waiter was a bit of a... More

We travelled to New York from Melbourne Australia. As we love our coffee (we live in Brunswick, so we are spoiled for choice). As we were a little underwhelmed with coffee on our last US trip Balthazar was recommended to us to try for coffee and eat. So we pulled up a seat at the bar and ordered a double... More

Had breakfast at this iconic restaurant. The service, food and atmosphere were all very good. This restaurant completely lives up to it's reputation - a must do if in NYC.
