Fantastic service and excellent food

The best experience of our Thursday - Monday vacation in New York. The staff was really looking after us but without being pushy. The place wars packed but we got service as if the place was empty. I would absolutely recommend you to book in advance. And as for any popular New York restaurant... read more

We went with some friends to Balthazar for lunch. As usual, the service and the food was great. My wife had a steak and fries (you MUST try the fries), and I had a Balthazar burger which was great. The one and only reason I don't give Balthazar 5 stars is because the place is packed and the tables are... More

A great brunch atmosphere. Decent food and drink. Does what it says on the tin. What they do, they do well...it's reputation meets expectation. I prefer Rue 57 to this place but if in the area then Balthazar is a good stop....

Opentable said reservations were 2 hours out but so glad we went anyway. Got a spot at the bar. Put, our name in with the maitre'd and had a table within an hour. Bartenders were friendly, exceedingly competent and helpful. Grab a free hard boiled egg for a snack if you are starving, because the food is sooo worth the... More

We didn't have a reservation, but the staff got me and my friend a table anyway. We both had the burger, which was delicious!

Service was attentive and all the employees are always smiling. The atmosphere is great and the food really good. Typical french brasserie with a very nice menu. Great spot for lunch !

Reasonable brunch menu choices. Food was outstanding. Kids loved their beef stroganoff. It was tough to find a table for a family of four even when using OpenTable. We did do a late brunch at 2:30; glad they continue their brunch menu until 4 pm. Enjoyed every morsel. Great breads, coffee and deserts. Side benefit - kids enjoy celebrity sightings... More

Breathtaking decor and ambience. Feels like you have travelled back in time the moment you step Into the restaurant. Service was attentive. Seating felt a little cramped. But once the food arrived all was forgiven!! Highlights for us were the garlic parsley butter filled snails and the steak tartare. We will definitely come back just for the food!!

Staying in SoHo

Neighborhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York, SoHo is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway is teeming with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district – the world’s largest collection of intricate and elegant cast-iron architecture. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city.
