TRUE PARISIAN FLARE IN SOHO !

What a delight to be able to experience authentic bistro French cuisine in Soho. I immensely enjoyed my coq au vin and after 15 trips to France, l really relished a true taste of Paris in this bustling hot spot. I must admit to be shocked by some other reviews as Balthazar's decor, food and service... read more

The atmosphere is fantastic, the service was good but the food was not good at all, we had pasta and was like having a costco frozen pasta. Not worth it at all, we will not going back, NYC has too many good places dont waste your money and time.

We had always wanted to try Balthazar and this was our 5th visit to NYC, so knowing it was within the higher end price range , we thought breakfast would be a least expensive option. I booked a table prior to our trip for our first morning in the city and I was glad I did as I thought it... More

Our Memorial day breakfast consisted of Eggs Benedict, coffee and orange juice. It was tasty, but not exceptional, certainly the most expensive eggs we had so far. Later I realized that the price was higher than other days probably because of the holiday. One egg was replaced because it was far too cooked. Appreciate that I got an extra portion... More

The goat cheese and caramelised onion tart was really good, so was the chocolate pot de creme, however very disappointed with the steak tartare (pre-made, not hand cut). Drinks are on the expensive side too, and by looking at other tables the french fries weren't appealing at all. The atmosphere is somehow nice though you wouldn't want to have breakfast... More

great food at a lovely Soho staple! the adjacent bakery has some of the best breads around. the cocktails are generous, the food is delectable, and the beautiful people traipsing in and out are always a treat in all their humourous glory

Our table of four had a very nice meal that was better than expected. Many of the reviews were not good, but the duck, trout, skate and fettuccine was all very good. The octopus salad was very good and not over cooked. But the best appetizer was a cheese tart that was decedent! Definitely worth a return trip.

Solid, reliable and always enjoyable. Balthazar is the perfect breakfast venue to kick off a day mooching around Soho. Buckwheat pancakes with gruyere cheese, ham and scrambled eggs were splendid. The only negative is that if you want American style pancakes or sweet crepes they are only on the menu at weekends- resulting in disappointment for two of our group... More

Typical French bistro, it could be in Paris, but it is in Soho, the trendy part of Manhattan. We drove to meet with family for celebratory brunch and enjoyed the champagne and the delicious food. We had the typical morning fare - my smoked salmon was delicious and nicely presented - the cappers, finely chopped onion and egg white. We... More
