A real NYC bar

This is an old West Village standby. I have been there several times over the years. It is not large or elegant, but the margaritas are good and inexpensive. Plus, they host some fun events. I had a great time at the Ernest Borgnine look-a-like contest one year. I came in second. The wait staff and... read more

We had such a great time visiting Tortilla Flats. We ate at the bar because the bartenders were so much fun to talk to. The margaritas are the best, and the guacamole is perfect! The place fills up fast, so get there early and get a seat. The food is authentic, fresh and full of wonderful flavor! We took a... More

I started coming to Tortilla Glats in the 80s. I no longer live in NY, but make TF an annual stop. Love the quest dip! I'm always torn between sitting in the Elvis booth or the Ernest Borgnine booth. Good times!

I have visited this restaurant every time I have been in NYC for the last 10+ years. There are two sides to Tortilla Flats. One side is a cool mellow respite from the summer heat in the city during the day. The second side is a lively place at night with a fun energy (I especially like trivia night). The... More

Ate lunch here with several friends before going to the High Line Park, which is about a block away. We ate on the small patio, which was cramped but ok. Unlike other reviews, our lunch service was fine. But maybe it wasn't busy inside... Several of us had the chalupas appetizer for lunch and it was delicious. The mushroom fajita... More

Customer Service here is horrible! Even before my experience eating at this place, I called to tell them I would not be partaking in the unlimited drinking portion of my friend's bday package. They told me that I have to still pay the $60 even if I was not drinking! They were not flexible at all, even when I said... More

We went on a Monday and got some bingo action, which was a good laugh. The food was well priced, there was plenty to choose from and plenty to eat! The margaritas were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. Not much more to say- we had a really good time and would definitely go again. Oh- one complaint:... More

This is a small restaurant near the Highline. The happy hour prices are more than reasonable and the food was good. It is a great place to hang out with friends.

Great fun place loud and lively with an MC to spark things along in the evening. Margeritas were good and got us in the party mood. The food which is cooked by mexicans was very authentic and tasty. The place was completely full and the atmosphere was among the best I had seen during this visit to NY......If you can... More

I was recommended this place by a friend for my first time in NY as a great place for amazing Mexican food (I live in London where there is none) but what was doubly amazing is that they do something on Tuesdays called "tequila bingo" which is really popular and a great time. The atmosphere is really fun! Get there... More

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
