What an amazing find. We were staying in Jones Street, and wanted somewhere local. Everything about the meal was fantastic. Service excellent (which was pretty much the same everywhere we went in New York), pasta so delicious, bread wonderful. Steamed clams to start were seriously memorable. I'd have travelled considerably further to go here.

We went to this cosy restaurant for their restaurant week menu. First thing going was a surprisingly delicious Bruschetta topped with marinated white beans...actually so delicious. I ordered Seabass ravioli as a starter. It was coming with capres and the combination was subtle and really tasty. My main was skate wing piccatta and another very good impression. Vegetables (leak fondue... More

I have been here three times in the last year on three separate visits with three different guests - two business and one - my bride. You need a reservation. Do not do anything but the tasting menu. Wine pairing was perfect. The food and ambience is special. I hate being disappointed restaurants that could be so much more. Po... More

Long over due review, but I went here two years based off recommendation from a family member. The restaurant is on a side street in the West Village. Small, but cozy place. Not a ton of room to maneuver, but the food makes up for it. I had the veal sweetbreads and it was one of the best dishes I've... More

We came as part of a food tour, but this was the spot where we had our main portion of the meal. The pasta was very good, and very fresh. The atmosphere was nice and we were not rushed. Would like to have tried more of a variety. Next time.

We went with another couple to this Italian restaurant and were delighted with the food. The place was intimate and cozy and yet had ample space around each table. Our pasta dishes were simply fabulous and the accompanying salads and appetizers were tastefully presented and also wonderful. The place felt like a real find and we will be sure to go... More

Okay, so Mario Batali started his food empire here, but he is no longer associated with the place The food was good, with a seasonal menu based on currently available ingredients. But, there are lots of other Italian restaurants that do the same. The staff was welcoming and attentive, again also available at many other places. The price for a... More

We enjoyed a wonderful meal on a rainy and cold night. We had the five course tasting meal and every course was fabulous. The flavors are incredible. Small and cosy atmosphere with great service. Would love to come back again.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
