What a lovely spot for a leisurely lunch

My best office pal loves this place so we have lunch here from time to time. It is such a pretty room, with tables in the windows on both sides of the door (we always go late enough so we can snag one). The menu is luxuriously Italian with first courses, plenty of pasta dishes, omelets, main... read more

I've been to Pó for a birthday dinner of a friend three weeks ago, while I was on vacation in New York. Me and my husband are italian and we've been suspicious about this place from the first moment. It looks like a place made for rich american people who have no idea what italian food looks like. It's very... More

In a stroll on the bleecker street trying to find a restaurant that was not too casual, too commercial ( almost every second spot is a chain like branch of some sort ) or too shabby, we cut through Minetta street, and came closer to the window to look at the menu since the window was covered with award stickers... We eat at Po every time we go to NYC. The food is consistently excellent! The portions are large and fairly priced. Three of us dined at Po about 10 days ago. It is a small place and we were seated next to a very noisy table. When another table became available we were moved. The situation was handled flawlessly.... More

This is a tiny Italian restaurant in the Village. Definitely call ahead for reservations. The chef's tasting menu is amazing. Particularly impressive were the dandelion tortellini in a wine/olive oil/garlic sauce and the best I can remember Gnocchi. The hen, pan fried with sweet corn kernels and cheese was also excellent. I'm not a desert person but the deserts were... More

We were planning on going to Cornelia Street Cafe and we ended up popping into Po instead.. so happy we did! Got an adorable table by the window and had a wonderful meal and service. I would come back just for the white bean crustini and the homemade pasta. Will definitely be back!! (service was wonderful)

This restaurant looked warm and inviting - and full - when I walked in. Only after sitting down did I notice that on a Saturday night at supper time they had more than just my table free in a tiny space. I felt that the quality of my food explained this. They were trying hard - close, but no cigar... More

We went to this restaurant with my girlfriend who would go there a lot about 8 years ago. We had a wonderful night filled with memories of the staff that remembered her, aswell as the best service, then came the food which was wonderful. The white bean bruschetta was put down as soon as we ordered our drink and it... More

What an amazing find. We were staying in Jones Street, and wanted somewhere local. Everything about the meal was fantastic. Service excellent (which was pretty much the same everywhere we went in New York), pasta so delicious, bread wonderful. Steamed clams to start were seriously memorable. I'd have travelled considerably further to go here.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
