Can I get you a Creme de Menthe?". These were the words uttered by one of the several waiters who waited on the lone 90 (?) year old woman who had come to dine at the reserved table next to ours at Villa Mosconi. She had been escorted to her table by a waiter, who walked her over carefully and... More

I've been her numerous times with a business associate and can say that not only was the food excellent but the first class service is reminiscent of those "good old days" when everyone either knew you or wanted to know you better so they could serve you best.

We dine at Villa Mosconi whenever we visit New York. Still love it after all of these years. The menu is traditional Italian fare, lots of red sauce dishes and the yummy steaks. We have sent friends here and always get rave reviews.

Decor is old world. Staff and owners have old world charm. It is so nice to see pride of ownership in an establishment that has been around for a long while, I surmise. We had a wonderful dinner enjoying simple fare. Enjoyed a rucola, endive radicchio salad with a simple vinaigrette. Savored the straciatella soup. Enjoyed a veal marsala and... More

I'm spending two minutes to wright this review to just say: this place has nothing from Italy. The quality of the food is mediocre, the place is a mess with poor decor and no ambiance at all. Really, it is enough to have an Italian name to pretend to be Italian? I respect everyone loving the place. Please, don't mix... More

Dear Sir/Madam, We are very disappointed to read your review. Our family run restaurant prides itself on our homemade food. Our pasta dishes are still made from scratch on the premises using the same recipes brought over from our homeland of Piacenza, Italy over 4o years ago. More

The restaurant is in the heart of the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan. The ambiance is average and can be a bit noisy. The service is excellent, but the food lacks imagination. There are better choices for Italian restaurants in the area and throughout the city.

Lovely meal with a wide range of choices and delicious wine list. Service was very nice and in an area surrounded by great bars too. Slightly pricey but great for a special meal. Thank you very much!

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
