A sultry steakhouse in New York City’s Greenwich Village where old-world glamour meets modern style and sophistication. Experience the combination of charred cuts perfectly paired with decadent sides, such as Truffle Creamed Spinach and Goose Fat Potatoes. And be sure to save room for the famed 24-Layer Chocolate Cake. I have never had a bad meal or experience here. I usually get a NY strip steak. Had the prime rib special before which was amazing and I recommend it if available. I always start with the lobster bisque which is very rich and creamy.

My friend and I stopped here to have a drink as we were walking around the city. I felt I needed to give a review simply because of the bartender. His name was Ariel. He was friendly and also gave us a great history of the restaurant and made a great drink. The atmosphere of this restaurant was amazing. Very... More

Food was amazing, liquers a bit overpriced perhaps, as we ordered glasses of wines and not bottles. But oh well .... It didn't matter, cause if you aren't used to go at the really good restaurants, this is an experience of a lifetime. Waiters were fantastic, never seen a table being cleared faster and cleaned for next course .... 5... More

A great stake in a beautiful and warm environment. Tried the bone-in rib eye and it was awesome! Had a nice cocktail at the bar while waiting for the table

This was my first visit to Strip House, despite having visited many of the other traditional NYC sterak houses (S&W's, Bobby V's, Sparks etc) and this is probably one fo the best. Service was the usually attentive steak house old school style, but also with a helpfulness and patience not usually seen, maybe just the luck of the waiter. Wine... More

There are 2 places for steak right beside each other - the main restaurant on the ground level and the "speakeasy" on the lower level right next door. I went to the "speakeasy" and shared a steak and delicious sides with a friend. The room was inviting and comfortable - old photos of strip girls of the past, red velvet... More

With NYC having so many options for great steakhouses, it was tough to choose but I couldn't have asked for a better overall experience. Not only does The Strip house have great steaks but what sets them apart in my opinion is the great sides and appetizers. We got the roasted bacon appetizer for an appetizer, and then the black... If you go to a steakhouse, you want your steak done right.. and this place does it right. I ordered a Filet Mignon and it arrived properly cooked, with a terrific crispy outer shell. The sides were really good too, but must be ordered separately from your main course. Unlike some other steakhouses, you actually had some space to enjoy... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
