Memorable Lunch

My greatest meal in NYC to date. The place deserves to have such a high rating. The staff were wonderful. The breads, urchin, flan, cheeses, décor, geeky wines, treatment –all memorable. Don’t need to add more.

This landmark restaurant has many qualities but also some flaws. Requiring men to wear jackets even at lunch when weather is in the nineties outside is a contrivance bordering on the annoyance. We elected the 5 course tasting menu at lunch. While we got the wine list ( extensive and expensive ) immediately,we had to request the menu after 20... More

My wife and I had a fantastic experience at Bouley. From the moment we arrived to the last bite of dessert the staff and chef provided a fine dining experience. Arrived at 5:30 and started the evening with champagne. We had the 3 course dinner, but by the time the night was over it more like 6 courses. Every dish... More

Bouley's is an absolute must visit when in NYC. Even though its very expensive, the experience leaves you on a high. We had the $125 dinner which came with three chef's delights in addition to our three course dinner. But be warned, as with many French restaurants, this one too is not big on huge portions.

This was our 2nd time here...first visit was 10+ years ago. Decor was very nice, We arrived 10 minutes early and were seated immediately. Service was excellent, one small 'issue' was our servers' accents were so strong that it sometimes did not allow us to understand their full description of our courses or our drinks. Meal was fantastic. We did... More

Even the guy that serves the bread is an expert with dozens of delicious loaves he serves with a surgeon's precision. Everything is delicious, just don't think about the bill in order to enjoy it.

We had the $55 lunch tasting menu and loved every bite! The décor is amazing with the entry room filled with a wall of fresh apples. The waiting area is a lovely lounge with murals, orchids and murals. We were seated in the basement that was decorated in an European library style with pretty chandeliers. We were served 2 types... A gastronomic delight! Not only is the food divine, but the service is impeccable... and the atmosphere is so elegant. Some may balk at throwing down $250+ at a lunch for two, but the tasting menu with wine pairing at Bouley is worth every penny. The sea urchin with caviar floating on a bed of lemon foam was inspired and... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
