Description: Nobu New York, the flagship restaurant of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, has been a pioneer for Japanese cuisine since its opening in 1994. Nobu partnered with restaurateur Drew Nieporent and Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro to bring his modern Japanese to Tribeca. Nobu draws upon his classical training at sushi bars in Tokyo and his life abroad in Peru, Argentina, and around the world to create a whole new trend in Japanese cuisine. The resulting dishes, including Yellowtail with Jalapeno, Tiradito Nobu Style, Lobster with Wasabi Pepper Sauce, and Black Cod with Miso, make Nobu the innovator of new style Japanese food. The restaurant received three stars from the New York Times and a Michelin star. Nobu New York's design by architect David Rockwell evokes the beauty of the Japanese countryside with its natural textures, birch trees, wood floors and a wall made of river stones. Energy and excitement pulse through the room, creating a surreal effect.

Loved the ambiance! We were a large group, but got quick and very friendly service. We went with the recommendations of our server and shared all appetizers and main courses. We were thrilled with the selections! All of the seafood was fresh.Try the cucumber martini...perfect match for sushi!

I had read about Nobu next door, and had high expectations. Unfortunately, so was the Tenderloin of Beef with Pepper Sauce ok but nothing special. It was rather expensive also, and you get Voss water from Norway that costs more than a beer. We have been at far better asian restaurant in Norway and Europe than Nobu.

Dined here for my 25th birthday last year. The atmosphere and our waiter was very nice. It was quite busy when we were there but we enjoyed ourselves. What I didn't like was that my main dish was way too salty and also that it was quite pricey. But I enjoyed the rest of the food. Would definitely come back.

I have been to Nobu in Miami, LA and Bahamas and every time I've been super impressed by the consistently delicious food. I go out of my way to make sure I go to Nobu in every city I know has one. This time, I was a little bit disappointed. We were unable to book Nobu, but were assured Nobu... More

As soon as we entered the restaurant smell of fried, not very pleasant , food overwhelmed us. Table are squeezed together to fit as many diners as possible. The waiter was very attentive, the sakitini was excellent, shrimp tempura, butter lettuce wrap black cod were heavenly. As soon as I had the first bite from my sushi all the bad... More

Having been to Nobu previously and thoroughly enjoyed a most memorable (and very expensive) tasting menu, I was eager to try Nobu Next Door during Restaurant Week. The food was delicious, the service wonderful. But even after 3 courses, we left hungry. On the way home in the cab, my husband actually wanted to grab some pizza! (I successfully discouraged... As all restaurants of Nobu Matsushita - this one is very good concerning cuisine, its' freshness, innovations, etc. A bit overpriced but uf you are NOBU fun - it's the MUST! Pity they do not serve unfiltered sake in less than 500ml - too much! Black cod - the dish you can not miss!

I love Nobu, but Nobu Next Door is just as good and in my mind much less pretentious. Food is excellent and you must not miss the yellowtail with jalapeño.
